It's spider time again

Recommended Posts

it was chilly last night so snuggled under the duvet when something moved - it was a spider nearly had heart failure and OH as usual no where to be seen so mashed it to a pulp with my book :shameonu: Then today at work was sorting out the sharps bins and a huge black spider appeared, managed to get him outisde. I feel I am being stalked by the 8 legged beasties. That and Daddy long legs :vom::anxious:

urgh :( horrible things!!! We've have loads of the really big ones recently. For some reason as much as I'm terrified of spiders, the Daddy Long Legs really don't bother me at all. I can happily pick them up to save them from the cats  don't ask me why - I know it doesn't make any sense whatsoever :lol: As for the 8 legged creatures, they are all captured in a glass and put outside in one piece unless the cats get to them first.

Well I don't mind getting rid of the cobweb spiders with conkers - they are a downright nuisance, but would be reluctant to upset Big Fred who's become a bit of a pet. Last year Medium Fred was eaten by a sneaky cobweb spider - they are so in the bad books. A baby crab spider was in the bath yesterday, so I set it freeeeee before I put the water in. Today DD was all gushy over a baby zebra spider (the jumping ones), so she put him outside too. We have a huge garden spider outside the lounge window - the web takes up half the window too - massive. It looked very pretty with the raindrops on it yesterday.

I hate those big stripey garden spiders that spin webs everywhere to catch you out when you venture out in the morning. I have been feeding them to the chickens, but bad karma came my way when I was rushing to the chicken run with one hanging on the end of a stick. I tripped over and fell flat on my face breaking an egg that was in my hand at the time and bruising my knees and my pride.:lol:

I did then think that i might be upsetting the natural balance in my garden and might get over run by flies if I got rid of all the spiders. So I am back to living with them. We have 2 huge ones in the front garden with webs to match
