Shortest text ever?

Recommended Posts

my aunt who is in her 70's and is just mastering texting is on holiday fishing in Scotland so I sent her a text asking if they had caught anything. her first effort - was and I quote

"O"!! :D She then sent another longer which made more sense. I said to OH " Dont think auntys quite got the idea of texting" and we had a little giggle :shameonu:

However text probs obviously run in the family - my first efforts were in and East European language as I hadn't switched it to English  My friend got quite a shock as she hadnt a clue who had sent or what they were trying to say :)

When my father had a stroke a few years ago and couldn't talk very well we kept in touch by texting. He's much better now, but we still keep up the texting as we live 350 miles away and it's an easy way to keep in touch every day. He sometimes sends a blank one by mistake, but it's not bad for a 75 year old!

I much prefer texting to phone calls - I find a ringing phone very invasive so send landline calls to my answer phone after two rings (this is as soon as it will allow). The only person I like to talk to on the phone is my sister - and she always texts first to ask when it will be convenient to call me

It takes me ages to text anything...and I hate predictive text too!....NO that wasn't what I was about to write thank you....

Also I hate someone else replying to text messages in front of me..it's like whispering and sooo rude!

And there is all that uncertainty about whether or not the recipient actually got the text...

I'd much rather talk...
