I have turned on the heating

Recommended Posts

We sleep with the window open unless its really howling snow and blizzard so usually with the open window we get ice inside it - cannot sleep in a warm room and the rad is never on in the bedroom at all - we have a wool new zealand duvet and its really warm and I am always really cosy when we wake up in bed never cold although the room is cold.

Still...................holding.............................out.

The thermal properties of an overaffectionate 42kg American Bulldog are not to be sneezed at!

:lol::lol: I admit to really laughing out loud to this..

Heating on here I hate being cold and if I am in my kitchen I like my warm feet so underfloor heating is on in there too. I just cant be cold.. brrrrrr hubby moans as he gets too hot, I dont listen.

I'll have to drop out of this thread now as DH confessed this morning that he'd put the heating on very low on Tuesday night

So he got a lecture on how much fuel & money he was wasting as the radiators were on so low no one had even noticed they were on, I also told him that I may have to start looking for my second husband as I can never trust him again :lol::lol:

So well done to those of you still holding out  I'd be there with you were it not for my naughty DH.

Hmmmmm - I don't think it works like that

We have had the heating on a couple of times just to keep the floors slightly warm as it takes too long to heat up if we get a suddne cold snap.

We've had a problem with the underfloor heating ever since we moved in but it has suddenly become worse. We have a suspected - well, definite now, leak on the heating and the pressure keeps dropping causing the boiler to cut out. We don't want to spend a fortune on it because we want to change to a multi fuel boiler. We are going through the process of having each part of the heating tested to see where the leak is and then that zone will be turned off for the winter - I'm really hoping it is the bedroom and not the lounge/hall. Because the whole system hasn't been zoned and labelled the bedroom becomes far too hot  I bet it will be the lounge though - not too bad as we have the woodburner.

We've succumbed to putting the heating on for an hour in the morning.

In the evening we light the woodburner and we snuggle in the front room until it gets too hot and then we allow some of the heat to permeate the rest of the house by having the door open a bit.

I always sleep with the window open a bit too. Can't stand stale air in the bedroom.

I shouldn't even be on this thread then, my heating has been on since September 1st

I have no other heating in the house, and last year things were going mouldy in cupboards because of the damp, so I decided to just have the heating on low, to keep everything dry. I know from experience that my house will get to below freezing if there is no heating on (went away one Christmas and on return found house was colder in than temperature outside). When I say the heating is on though, we are talking 14 degrees in the bedroom, 16 degrees in the front room (where I am now), 18 in the bathroom and living room and the only other room with heat is the kitchen, and that depends if the oven is being used or not :D

ooooh it's cold today - been in a heated building all day and still had cold fingers and toes.

So tonight....

I've lit the fire and had half hour in the hot tub. Toasty and warm me!
