Lydia
I'm guessing whoever they do pick may have a deliberately short contract....
chelsea
Wouldn't it be nice if Raymond said "I'm zorry, I'm not opening ze restaurant wiz any of you". I would love that! Can you imagine their faces.....
dippy bird
I am with you Laura, that would be a brilliant ending to a really poor series.I was so looking forward to this series, but it has been rubbish!
Reikiranf
That would be fab I'm beginning to think that the whole thing is a fix and that Raymond insisting that JJ cook for him was very contrived as was Raymond saying that he could make a good chef, out of him it got me wondering if JJ could really be a very talented chef/actor & amaze us all, otherwise why would a couple of scammers still be in it, as they already have their own business & are very good at their own PR which basically makes them businessmen and Raymond & co are supposedly looking for a chef It's a shame that what was a great programme appears to have become a well choreographed dance TBH I was disappointed when the two young girls went out very early on
Krysia
I have also been disappointed this year I think they were all pretty poor and the 2 we cant cook but can joke spiffingly and wink at the same time should have gone out in the first few weeks! I want rags to riches to win becuase he can cook and they are not the other too!
chelsea
Never has a reality tv programme made me so angry both me and OH were shouting at the tv come the end. The result was a joke and we won't be watching next year!
Lydia
Oh. My. God. I am speechless!!
rachick
Lost a lot of credibility.......had a horrible sinking feeling they were going to win once they produced that cocktail.....felt really sorry for the other 2, although Nathan wasn't great, surely they were the best option?
sadietoo
Well I have to say I did slightly warm to JJ and James, and was kind of pleased they won. Nathan was just such a stroppy sullen individual, I just couldn't take to him at all - which is a shame as clearly the other guy could cook well....but see there is my problem, I just can't remember the name of the chef because he didn't leave any impression on me. Whilst I agree this wasn't a patch on the previous series, I think because the other two restauranteurs have come into the mix, the focus was more on businessmen in a difficult climate than on worrying about excellence in the kitchen this time, and JJ and James fitted the bill. Raymond can teach JJ to cook and he really liked him (and his palate)....James is the sort of smooth talker who is going to run a successful front of house. Well good luck to them...at least they smiled all the way through!!
Egluntyne
It seemed so unfair. Their rissotto was a disaster and the soufle a joke. Chris's cooking was spot on, and yet that seemed to count for nothing. I'm dumbfounded. It will be interesting to see how long they stay in business. Lesley
We've just watched it - and we're speechless as well A total farce

Olly
I feel cheated - I won't watch this again! That risotto was cringe-making ... and when he started whisking the souffle mix AFTER he'd added the other ingredients, and then adding more flour into it, I had to put a cushion over my face! Laura & CTB
, the focus was more on businessmen in a difficult climate than on worrying about excellence in the kitchen this time, and JJ and James fitted the bill. I agree! I think if they'd have been in last year's competition they wouldn't have lasted past round 2. At least JJ was thinking on his feet. Feel sorry for the other guys though as they put so much effort into it - hope they do well in the future.
Lesley
Someone - in a PM - has just said "they won't last 5 minutes" - perhaps that's the plan??? it would be cheaper for the three of them
Lydia
Yes I imagine the contract goes something like "if you mess this all up we don't lose any money. At all." Chris performed consistently well throughout the challenge (and IMO throughout the series). He also picked his produce fresh from the garden and prepared himself properly. JJ had to find out what a blini was "apparently it's a pancake", made a risotto that you could have lagged pipes with and didn't even know how to whisk egg whites let alone a souffle. I too was screaming when he got the flour out. Yet they seemed to win purely because they made a highly alcoholic cocktail that was frothy on top and looked a bit like a souffle. Well if that was the criteria then Chris never stood a chance. I knew they were going to win as soon as they kept in the bit about it not being just about the cooking and Raymond saying he wasn't looking for the finished article. Well thank heavens for that because, bar the charm, I'm not sure the article has even been started. I have a feeling this will be last series of The Restaurant. Which, judging by that farce might not be a bad thing.
Chucky Mama
What a shocker I was in fits during the souffle farce when it was flying everywhere and he had his hand over the bowl trying to stop it escaping - and failing - and then the flour It was fantastic television. I knew they were going to win, it was all edited to justify it. All about concept what a joke. Unfortunately for Raymond it reflects very poorly on him and I think I will enter next year with my dog. She can't cook but it will be a great concept
Groovychook
I was a fan of 'The Restaurant' too but only watched a couple of this years episodes. I couldn't believe what a clueless bunch they all were! I can only think that they were the only applicants! I saw bits of last nights final and was sure that the winkers would be shown the door... I was speechless when they won. Surely it won't be recommissioned again. I think I will enter next year with my dog. She can't cook but it will be a great concept Oh, I don't know... don't write off her chances too quickly!
ClaireG
We were to. JJ can't cook for toffee, the risotto looked disgusting and we were in fits when he was trying to stop the souffle flying everywhere. Prehaps everything in the resturant will be served in a glass, they might just be able to manage that
Leicester_H
This was like so many TV series... started out as good idea but TV company just kept making more and more series until it was rubbish like.. Big Brother Celebrity Master Chef Strictly etc. etc. I say limit all to 3 series (at most) !! H

Olly
Must admit that Raymond Blanc has gone down in my estimation too - he's a Michelin starred chef, how could he open up a restaurant with someone who can't even whisk egg-whites? However, I can say that I have been to Pied a Terre, David thingy's restaurant, and it is possibly the most delicious food I have ever eaten in my life and the best service. (It was a work lunch, someone else was paying!)
Lydia
I get the feeling David Moore would be really reallly difficult to live with - all that preciseness and slight air of smugness I can just imagine his partner trying to serve something everyday like shepherd's pie or spag bol and him getting the tape measure out to measure the distance between the cutlery. Shepherds pie I don't think he would allow such a thing Unless of course it was perfectly presented with a red wine jus and a julienne of seasonal vegetables. It would of course have to be served after his amous bouche (sp.)
Valkyrie
OH and DD have enjoyed the programme in the past. I saw last weeks episode - not impressed, but OH was so too. He said "well that's one restaurant I have no desire to visit". I wonder how long it will last before it gets closed down for good?
