I'll be checking out the website for live mealworms and other bird foods, my mum buys loads of wild bird food, so thanks for the info I think it would take my three several years to get through 3 kilos of them (and that's if they were given the chance ) I've been supplementing their picky eating habits recently as they are all moulting, but tend not to feed dried mealworms on an all year round basis. I'll stick with a couple of tubs a year as it still works out cheaper in the small quantities, I'm sure if I bought the 3 kilo bag I would over feed and waste it (or drop something on it in the shed and have 3 kilos of mealworm powder ). Oh there would be none left on the floor. plastic bucket with good lids from my local bakers, are ideal for storing them in. many people buy them for the wild birds. I will get DH to bring me a kit and give it a go. The temperature over her doesn't drop below about 65f so should be ok without extra heat. There is a cost to buying the feed, and time of course.
