gooner.girl
Yeah was helping my friend get a cow into the crush this morning ready for the vet and they have gorgeous eyes and faces - much nicer then sheep. Made me wonder why i eat beefburgers...
Louise
Coz they taste nice Helen They can get tiresome cows as they aren't the brightest animal on the planet Nice but thick

gooner.girl
I know - i love meat and hate vegtables! However i find it hard when i'm down here on the farm and eating a lovely roast dinner and one of my friends boys pipes up 'this is no-neck' (or the name of the animal we are eating) particuarly when i remember it live and kicking from last time we were down! Do you still all eat chicken? I don't find eating the meat a problem still, but any bits that look like chickens - ie legs etc i don't want to eat anymore! Louise
Yup I love chicken The only meat I am not keen on is lamb and it is to do with the smell of it cooking I will eat it if someone gives it to me I just tend not to cook it myself
The Dogmother
I think that most chicken owners get asked that question, and the answer from me is 'I still eat chicken, but only happily reared ones'. I could eat my own meat chooks if I had them, but not my pet egg-laying ones.
The Dogmother
I'm like that about lamb Louise, I only like it in spicy dishes, minted lamb burgers or merguez sausages. I'll cook those, but the smell of roast lamb or lamb chops turns my stomach.
Louise
It is a horrid smell Taste nice though its just the cooking thing with me I just remembered I am not keen on rabbit either That is another smell one if you have ever gutted a rabbit that has been dead for a little while say an hour the meat tastes the way the guts smell and that really turns my stomach
gooner.girl
Mmmmm. Roast lamb.... Thats my favourite. We are having that tonight! It will have been reared about 100 yards from where i am eating it! Just bought from my friends a pack of sausages, 8 beefburgers, 8 lamb chops, and a big joint of beef that should feed 6 for £16 - bargain eh? Plus i know it is freerange and well looked after whilst it is alive. And also the flavour is soooo much better then shopbought!
The Dogmother
I hate it too for the same reasons, also because it's got lots of small bones *Bleurghhh*
The Dogmother
That's good food miles then Annie I am going to Stratford market tomorrow, the meat there is superb, but I get my beef from a little local butcher, who sources his meat with conscience and can trace it all, either that or Eagles in Deddington, who do the same. Martin B
Lamb is my favourite meat. I still eat chicken but I'm much more aware of how it is raised. If I hatch any cockerels I would like to eat them!
Lesley
I see you've all managed two whole pages without me I feel redundant I've not seen any activity from Oliver - but we can't see much from inside and when you go outside, they all just stand and stare We have now bought the raddle - which we have to try and get on Oliver tomorrow That should be fun - like mud wrestling I expect The mud is starting to be a bit wearing as I have to walk so carefully in it and watch every step - very tiring. I've slithered around all the chicken runs this afternoon - for ONE egg!!!! ******* ******* ****!!!!!!!!!!!!
The Dogmother
Sorry, I meant Helen bad afternoon!!! But watch it, i'm a fast runner as Annie says - used to give Graham a hiding when he was on the forum.
