I feel sorry for all the wildlife

I'm going through masses of bird food.

No snow here (Berks/Oxfordshire) at the moment - really hard frost though.

We don't (South Birmingham) . Some was forcast last week but didn't come to anything. They have forcast snow for today but I'll believe it when it happens. Kids very dissapointed that the schools are not closed and want to move to Scotland

We've had 6 or 7 inches overnight and all of us have a snow day!! Shame the boiler's not working so no heat or hot water - anyone want any of our snow????

There is a lovely farmhouse for rent at the end of our lane right next to the Castle. It is a holiday let at the moment because no one wants to rent/ buy it.

 

Snow here for over two weeks.

 

Schools here do not start until thursaday as well

 

I am going through heaps of wild bird food plus s"Ooops, word censored!"s from the kitchen.

NW London. Very frosty, no snow. Why, oh why, is it that the year I decide to get outdoors pets to care for we get the coldest winter for 100 years. They don't seem to mind, it's just me shivering in the dark early morning.

We're snowless, everything is frozen solid but still no fluttery white stuff......if it comes as predicted tonight I can almost guarantee that DD's school will have a "do not attempt our drive" attitude on it's a mile long & narrow, obviously they are not prepared to treat it nor let us take responsibility for coming down it............I bet we don't get a refund for lost days either

 

DS is back at school safely as of last night........he wants to come home at the weekend, but that really depends on the weather........at least he's warm & safe, and will have great fun in the snow that they will no doubt get

None here, we were forecast some last week but all we got was freezing rain We went shopping yesterday and had to s"Ooops, word censored!"e ice off the inside of the car windscreen and I have never known the ice so hard on the outside

 

We are forecast for quite a bit today and tomorrow, and it is very grey with a few flakes in the air now. Most of it is supposed to come in this evening.

 

My 2 oldest children are at school 5 and 9 miles away respectively, so I am hoping that they will get home on their coach ok YD is due back at school tomorrow, but if we get the promised snow she may get an extended holiday.

 

We are feeding the wild birds too and have got through even more meal worms than normal shhh don't tell the hens that other birds are getting their worms

We didn't get snow until about an hour ago.

 

I am going through much more wild bird food than chicken food at the moment. I'm ordering 40kg at a time and keep 4 seed feeders, three peanut feeders and two fat block feeders topped up. The 40kg lasts about 4 to 6 weeks. They must be extremely hungry, poor little things.
