hi since having my wir i have had a temp tarpolin on the roof but i made the mistake of not slanting it (only planned on it being there for summer )

 

so now the water puddles on the roof and with all the snow gets very heavy- i have meshed roof panels under it (flat) but dont want the added weight! plus it nas a leak which keeps getting the bedding wet

 

what is best to use to replace it? i obviously want to slant it and use guttering, but have no idea on how to slant it as the flat roof panels are already fixed?

 

any advice greatly recieved

we used corrugated plastic sheets. they are slanted by being fixed to wedge shaped bits of wood rather than directly to the sides of the wir.

I asked a similar thing about the roof recently ... we're hopefully getting some clear corrugated plastic with batons across the roof panels to raise it up.

 

A couple of useful replies:

I agree 100% with sjp, the translucent roofing needs a slope. A 15'x6' roof area will catch a lot of water.

The general rule is a 50mm slope over a 6' depth. You can have a look at how I did my roof and gutters in detail ** here **.

Go to a timber merchant and ask for firring pieces, they are pieces of timber that start thick and end up to nothing. Fit these on and then cover with corrugated plastic sheeting from Wickes.
