Cinnamon
I meant to listen, but with school closed I slept in. I did flick on briefly, & heard he was playing Elbow, which is a very good thing indeed, but did anyone hear the whole show?

patsylabrador
I'm quite interested in this as I usually listen to XFM but Dave Berry will be breakfast DJ soon and I'm not a fan. I'm struggling to find morning radio show that I like. Curious about Mr Evans.
Couperwife
I really enjoyed listening to him but then I always do He must be rather important in Radio 2 cos he managed to shift Sarah "im queen" kennedy back half an hour (and she has been there for 19 years) he had a lot of people phoning in, dont know if thats a good thing or bad thing I only listen til about 8am, then im at work cathy x
Seagazer
I only caught about 10 minutes and he seemed okay to me. Will try to listen to a bit more tomorrow.
chick wiggle
I loved Chris Evans on Drivetime and would always listen. He was brilliant with the kids who rang in for the 'what have you done for the first time today' slot. But in a morning I like to have a giggle and Im afraid its Chris Moyles for me. Not everybodys cup of tea I know, but if you 'get' him, he can be hilarious. Terry Wogan just used to put me to sleep (sorry )
Cinnamon
I wake up to Christian O Connell on Absolute at the moment - he makes me giggle & I like the music they play. But I love Chris Evans - always have. Not sure about the R2 music though.........its a bit to MOR for me as a rule. Still,I will give it a go for this week...what have I got to lose? Griffin
I loved it, I caught a little bit on the way to nursery but listened to it all on Iplayer this afternoon. Brilliant songs. Not so keen on all the listeners calling in. Glad he's kept his Top 10 Tenuous and Sir Terrys Pause For Thought. I've always been a Chris Evans fan, I think he's one of the best entertainers we've seen in the last 30 years.
sparkysmum
he was brilliant. It takes a lot to make me want to dance in the morning but he did - zany, cheery, a very welcome change. I say that even although I loved TW too. I hope he's a real, huge success
chickenNutter
Only caught about an hour and it seemed the same format to his evening show really. I was a convert to his evening show, and love him as he is always upbeat and happy in this gloomy world of ours, and we need more than that. Still lamenting the loss of Sir Tel though. jlo
I forgot to listen until about 7.30 am. I normally listen to Radio 5 in the morning but will probably change over now CE has taken over from TW. I used to think that Chris Evans was a complete wally but have really enjoyed Drivetime and this morning seemed pretty good to me. It seems that Moira is quite smitten with him from what I have read and it was nice of TW to send the message. It may just be for show but Chris appears to have an absolute respect for Terry which I hope will endear him to those mourning the loss of Tel! Snowy
So far so good! managed to listen to a decent chunk on the drive to work today and caught myself laughing out loud! I've only heard him play motown so far - could do with some more modern music, but otherwise, he can stay!
Cinnamon
I gave him 15 minutes this morning,& suffered 60's dirge,Abba & *shudder* Phil Collins. Back to Absolute for me I am afraid!
chelsea
I am so pleased I get to hear him at 7am as that is when I'm driving to work I love him, he's so upbeat and jolly in this world of doom and gloom. I love the "sillyness" and stupid discussions, like the one about bobbly jumpers this morning. Music - erm....well we went from Abba to Rod Stewart to Cheryl Cole this morning! Hope it gets better. Willow
I listened to a little this am and it was fine. I must admit I liked TW even though I remember being horrified that my mum listened to him when I was a teenager. I couldn't bear Sarah Kennedy though - so depressing and since the latest I could stay in bed usually is 7.30 R2 wasn't an option.
Saronne
So far so good! managed to listen to a decent chunk on the drive to work today and caught myself laughing out loud! I've only heard him play motown so far - could do with some more modern music, but otherwise, he can stay! Modern music?! Oh, Snowy, you could have phrased that a bit differently! I grew up IN Motown and with Motown. I suddenly feel very old... Saronne x

Wasn't it great to hear Moira Stewart, reading the news. I prefer Chris, to Sir Tel,........ Hides behind couch.....
Guest
Well I loved El Tel but Evans has me singing on the way to work. Odd how you can start the day so happy!
chickenNutter
I think he is doing ok. I was disappointed about the move initially as I liked the fact that if I had had a bad day at work (well that is most days really) Chris's irrepressable high spirits cheered me up on the way home, but actually having a boost in the mornings puts me in a better frame of mind to withstand a pants day, so it is just as good. Still miss Tel though. Anyway who was it texted or e-mailed Chris this morning about chickens then? One saying their girls were confused with the change from morning to evening, as they were used to him at roosting time, and another asking if it was alright to eat frozen eggs. Have to be Omleteers, surely! And Chris said he has chickens himself! He must be an ok guy then?
welovemarmite
I thought he was good. However can't say the same for SImon Mayo who I have tried for the last two days and finding him very dull.
chickenNutter
I agree, but then I have always found him dull!
The Dogmother
I tried two mornings listening to Chris Evans, now I only have half an hour of listening, and I really gave him a chance, but his manic, high pitched voice really annoyed me (although I liked the music choice) so I have switched to the local station for now and will explore others when I get a moment to try them out. I prefer mellow and informative in the mornings.
chickencam
He seems ok and a cheery start to the day, I quite like the diverse music choice. I have had local radio on recently because of school info etc...not that they get it right. I also find Simon Mayo rather dull but he is better than Scott Mills on radio 1 and I like my music without adverts so there isn't much choice really. I've also heard lots of chicken talk
