Cinnamon
After hearing from a good forum friend that her & all her family have been really, really ill with this new winter vomiting bug, I wonder who else has been hit over the last few weeks? It seems that lots of people have or have had it,& some hospital wards are shut, but I don't think anyone I know has had it yet, down here
theherd123
Yes it is doing the rounds and is very nasty too. The school secretary has had it & caught it from her dad who has only recently returned home from having a stroke. He was in a shocking state and she said said she had never felt so ill in all her life, totally drained, stomach cramps, virtually living in the bathroom & lost nearly a stone I wouldnt wish it on anyone! Mrs Frugal
LSH went down with it on Wednesday night, I followed on Saturday, Tom on Sunday and Ollie yesterday. It is just horrible .
The Dogmother
A girl at work had it and had the sense to stay at home; she was very poorly and after 3 weeks, still hasn't completely got over it
iar fach goch
Our local hospital had 8 wards closed with it following Christmas.
Raina
Sounds Nasty. My mum hasn't been too well the past couple of days, I hope she doesn't get it
Becka
We had it on Boxing Day because my brother brought it up with him from Kent. He did manage to give it to everyone over Christmas except our grandmother who is in her eighties and has a dicky ticker, so that at least was something. They talk about splatter in CSI but you can only imagine the splatter sickness makes from the top bunkbed. The inhabitant of the bottom bunk slept through the whole ordeal but was very shocked when she woke up! I don't know if it's a coincidence but our two German Shepherds were sick too which was most peculiar and made for even more cleaning up. feemcg
A few of the staff at my surgery have been off with it, and it has gone round their families. We 'service' several nursing homes and one of them is quarantined so it's emergency only visits for them......and wee Anna had 48 hours of D+V last week but not convinced it was that as she got over it fairly quickly. Sunshine
I was sick 6 times yesterday morning. It was horrible. Today i don't feel sick as such but still got a funny tummy. I'v got a really stiff neck and a headache today as well. I don't feel like eating or drinking at all even though i know its the best thing to do. Minnie&Moose
My son had it early Dec - not nice at all! He's normally very tidy about throwing up but with this one he didn't appear to know what was going to happen After several very messy days (I don't do vomit!) Seagazer
Our local hospital has closed some of its wards to visitors because of the virus. I haven't had it this year but did have it a couple of years back. YS got it first, I then got it and I've never felt so ill, absolutely dreadful. My hubby said he didn't know somebody could throw up quite so much and so often. After a few days my MIL came to take YS to school for me. She stood about 5 foot away from me but she went down with it too. Felt very guilty.
ubereglu
We haven't had it, but in Yeovil hospital there were a couple of wards which did. The Norfolk and Norwich hospital has it too-I only know this as my great uncle is currently there.
docsquid
There are wards closed at one of our local hospitals. Sadly one of my clients has to visit regularly as her mum is in there and unfortunately she seems to have gone down with it too It is a common seasonal virus, self-limiting but extremely unpleasant nonetheless. chickencam
I caught this just before my DS was born after an overnight observation stay in hospital. I spent the next few days crawling from bed to toilet, not nice at anytime but when heavily with child even worse. two of my children got it really badly during the February half term a couple of years back and they spent the whole holiday in bed it was awful. It's times like that I am very glad of an automatic ashing machine.
