Happy Birthday to your chickeny Uncle, Lulu.

Ta

Mother has creosoted Purkinje!

She ( (white chicken)) was 'chasing' mothers slippers this morning so mother poked her with a paint brush (why? ) which was still wet from when I was painting the WIR!

So she now has an orange crop! :|

Lewis told mother it was stupid to poke her with a paint brush!

... "Try and be more positive"

So I cheered and applauded her

Happy Birthday Jessie

Hello all :D Had the day from hell yesterday! Decided to go to work with Simon as he was working in London. Everything was fine and dandy untill he got called and asked to go to a depot as a wagon had come in with paint (they are not supposed to get paint). He was told it was 50 tins, got there and itwas over a ton of paint  Poor DH had to climb onto the wagon and crawl on his hands and knees in pouring rain. He got coverd in paint and muck. Because there was a lot more than expected it took ages. We then got stuck getting out of London as traffic bad everywhere. Then got held up buy accident on M1. Got nearer home to find loads of snow :o:shock: Our road was shut. Tried to go through another village and a lorry had got stuck. Had to wait for gritter to turn round so we could go another way. Eventually got home at 10.30 to find part of chicken run had started to collapse under the weight of the snow  Poor DH had to do emergency repairs by torch light. Several lorries and a coach stranded in our village overnight. The road has only be open about an hour. It's just started snowing again as well :(

to JJ! Woot woot! Have a lovely day.

We had a nice day today after a rubbish start. They haven't mentioned the snow on the news - sounds like it was really bad.

Kitty has been really funny today talking to herself and looking like a pompom where she's trying to do turkey impersonations and it just doesn't work with furry feathers. I locked her out of the eglu - the cube was free but she kept trying to do Fred Flintstone and was knocking on the door all day. At one point we picked her up and she had a nice sunbathe on Erin's lap. In fact it looked like we had carnage in the garden - 3 pekins and a maran stretched out on the paving slabs like road kill. I also scaley leg sprayed Kitty (as a precaution) and doused her with diatom. She wasn't amused. Tipsy has looked a little down today, so we cornered her and I had her on my lap for a while. Her crop felt a bit empty. So I massaged her everywhere (not sure she liked it) and brought her in for some scaley spray and a diatom bath - and just in case some vaseline up the bum in case of a big egg. Funnily enough she found the sultanas by the draining board - managed to scoff them no problemo. She looked a bit perkier after that and is now in the nest box.

Hmmmm creosote. Love that smell.

Haha - just seen what Teabag wrote - that's how the panda was in my subconscious thoughts.

:( Not a good day then Claire!

Lewis is leaving ours until the snow stops - can imagine father being  if the snow collapsed the roof after a day

Lewis is just making a logo for the next charit thing at school :D

It's not properly roofed Lewis as Si says it's too big and difficult for him to roof  so has a fruit netting roof. Normally, everything goes through the net but the extra big crisp sized flakes when come down at a rate of knotts seem to stick! Also means it's a big wet boggy mess :( Si is bringing me a couple of pallets home so the girls can get out of the mud a bit more. When it dries up a bit we're going to use sand and gravel, in the hope it helps. Can't concrete like you as being rented we are not allowed :( We have a few slabs that help a bit and will try and get more when can afford it. The new bantam run will have a roof of some sort, hopefully polycarb if he can fit it, if not clear tarp and i am intending on using Aubiose in it.
