jellykelly Posted February 8, 2010 Share Posted February 8, 2010 Well, Miss shiny bumhole, one of my ex batts is to be renamed......... Miss fluffy runway!! She has grown a run/stripe of fluffy knicker feathers! There is very little exposed red area now, so she's coming on nicely. My coop had sprung a leak so I had to order a new one from Ebay before even attempting a repair. Sadly the new coop can house a few more chickens then I already have - oh dear!! I will set about reapiring the old coop (now hubby has gone to work in Cumbria again) and purchase a second run. Hubby also asked me before he left what I would like for Valentines day. I was given two options - a bunch of flowers or two bantams (to fill the new coop). Guess what I went for!!! Once the new coop arrives, repairs will be made on the old coop (for intro's) and then I go bird shopping. Once they've settled, then I'll be filling the old coop with some more. I know that it's it a slow slippery descent into chicken-dom - but I'm loving every minute. So much so that I'm also getting a cube as my anniversary present in May - Woop woop!! I have decided on my bantams too - I just hope they're available at this time. I'm going to get a lavander Auracana, Silver laced wyandottes, silkie and a maran. She then gave me the contact details of...http://www.gsbantams.co.uk/index.html. They're located in tenterden but currently only have Welsummers, Auracanas and Marans available and open by appointment only at the weekend. He's is good in the mornings too, when I nudge him at stupid-o-clock and whisper..."let the chickens out". I think he loves them really. He's keen to tell everyone how the ex batts are doing and how much they've improved. I've even caught him checking lables in the supermarket to see where the chicken is from.
