dancing cloud
As promised, here are pics of yesterday's new arrivals. Lady - so fully feathered you'd never believe she only came out yesterday Lola with no tail Lucy the killer chicken - attacks everything including me Rhiannon who's never stopped singing since she arrived (hoping that's not going to last!) Rose - the most naked and not enjoying the cold Roxanne whose all-out war with Lady seems to have reached a temporary truce Two lovely things to share about the rescue yesterday . Firstly the financial generosity of the adopters - I was put in charge of the begging bowl (my name for it - probably not official ) and, despite everyone tightening their belts, there were a lot of £20 notes in it. Secondly the generosity of the adopters in providing homes. A short-notice rescue of 50 resulted in 82 lucky hens being brought out and, between 10 or so adopters, all of the extra 32 immediately found homes as almost everyone was able and willing to squeeze in a spare girl or two (or three in my case and several others). Thanks to BHWT for the rescue and to everyone who contributed so much to giving these hens a home - you were inspiring! Tutti Frutti
HAPPY BIRTHDAY DC! Well done on the rescue! Did the girls sleep OK in their cube? Lavenders_Blue
HaPpY BiRtHdAy DaNcInG CloUd! Lovely photos of your girls, it's interesting to see how some are almost fully feathered and some are in a much more sorry state. You wouldn't believe they have all come from the same place. I hope they settle in quickly and start growing their beautiful new feathers soon.
jellykelly
I have one that looks just like Rose. I just wanna give her cuddles and keep her warm - but then I get ' would you just get off me look' when I do! They look lovely - not too battered at all. Congratulations!
