abwsco
We're fed up with most of the normal TV and do not have Sky so have been buying box sets when they've been cheap. So far we've watched The Sopranos, The Wire and are currently on Six Feet Under. Would love some ideas please

Griffin
Lost is brilliant. I've stuck by it right from the start, tough going at times but I'd highly recommend it. Like Cinnamon, I'd suggest Skins too, we love that.
Helly Welly
I'd recommend Houseand Desperate Housewives but we also own Star Trek The next Generation, Doctor Who, Battlestar Galactica and a zillion films.
sadietoo
We've enjoyed watching Pride and Prejudice (BBC version only- wouldn't touch the film with a barge pole) Life on Mars and Ashes to Ashes (as already mentioned) and also a great series from the early 1990's GBH (Alan Bleasdale) starring Robert Lindsay, Julie Walters et al But mostly we prefer comedy so we also love Coupling, Jam and Jerusalem, Green Wing and Black Books...and I'm ashamed to admit...I do watch the Golden Girls when I'm doing my ironing I'll get my coat! Cinnamon
Coupling is fab, as is Gavin & Stacey. Cold feet is great too, & Black Books. Can't go wrong with a bit of Blackadder either
Ain't Nobody Here
Don't know if it's out on DVD yet but I've watched 2 series of Damages with Glenn Close and the 3rd series starts next week. If you like cop shows and don't mind a bit (or a lot) of gore, Dexter is very good. What about The Ladies Detective Agency - very easy watching. Chickendoodle
On a completely different wavelength my DH was given the box set of the World at War for Christmas. It is the 1973 series narrated by Laurence Olivier. It is absolutely brilliant as the prople interviewed in it who were involved in the various conflicts were only in their 60's. A fascinating history
ubereglu
Black Books...I love it!
Jennifer Jane
I sometimes think that we're the only people who watch Mad Men, which is excellent. Series 3 is showing on terrestrial now, but series 1&2 are available together on DVD, And another vote for Dexter!
