I'm rather impressed that I can actually see chickens in my garden on the Google map They don't all show up but I can easily see a great big white chook outside one of the coops, probably Juliet

 

Has anybody else spotted theirs?

My neighbour is still taking her wheelie bin in . Can't see the back of my house .

 

Google maps doesn't even show my chickens in the garden and I've had them over 3 years .

Google maps you can see the guinea pig and half of the old WIR, on google earth it says it was taken in 2007 - Bing doesn't zoom in as far either.

I'm so annoyed with the street view, they stopped the car at the bottom of my road by the allotments and didn't bother going any further so I can't see my house One of my cats hangs around there and by the school gates so I'm off for another look to see if I can see him

That is because bing maps is newer, it is expensive to fly planes around the whole country taking pictures.

The satellite view of my house is quite old, it's still the one from before I moved in. Street view of my road wasn't up there last time I looked, but I searched on Friday and my house is on there now.

 

"What's that white van doing in my drive?" - I was astonished to see a van, and a man opening the van door. Zooming in reveals a roof-ladder just hooked over the pitch of the roof - so I can date it exactly to the day when I had my wood-burning stove installed in November 08!

Our street view is only half the road too, can just see our house - the van drove down the slip road instead of going down the main road!

Yes it was bin day for us too

Shame as the the view up the road shows the bins randomly left around the pavements by the bin men

 

No chickens either as hidden from view in the back garden

 

Great fun to navigate around though even if it is a bit intrusive

I've just checked the whole family's windows and cars to make sure there was nothing too visible. It was funny to see FIL's house extension.......we haven't been invited to see it in 4 years since it was built! I also found the postman delivering to our old next door neighbour's.

 

It's worrying that once you've zoomed in you can just click on the Print button and print out a close up

Have you dragged the orange man across Karen? - I hadn't done that at first and though we still had just the Google Earth aerial view which you could zoom in with. I didn't realise that you had to drag the orange man and if the street is shown in blue than it is on Streetview!! (thanks Lewis! )

I found us but can only see the front and drive. Our garage door is open so you can see some mess but disappointed as there are no chickens wandering on the drive. I've also checked that no-one is in a window.

We are too far out in the sticks to be on streetview, I have just checked. Even on the aerial view from above our Cottage is just a blur.

 

I have had a look at my Mum's house on street view and my Nephew's van is parked outside. Also found our house in Lincoln, I really liked living in Lincoln but I am glad I don't live in that house any more.

Bin day at ours too

 

You can just see my head over the fence in the 'chicken' garden but it is very blurred (thank goodness for a longish driveway). "Ooops, word censored!"ody else in our street but I had a nosey around the neighbourhood and found a very clear OH and DS1 on their bikes at the village crossroads waiting to cycle across

 

They don't seem bothered - OH intends to tell everyone in work

Extremely frightening! Luckily our house is that over grown with trees round its perimeter, you can't see any chickens or windows. You can only see our cars in the drive.

However, I did my sister's & you can see the chickens wandering on the farm. My mums & dads house, thank goodness their blinds were closed, as other wise the parrot would have been on full view I think.

We were sad to look at hubby's dads house who sadly passed away last year. His car was in the drive & front door open. So he was still alive.

 

I don't like how much you can zoom in - I really don't. It's very worrying.

I don't get why people are worried, it's notihing that can't be seen by any random passer by. Someone explain to me what I'm missing please

A passer by would need good binoculars to see what you can see when you zoom in. Plus I think I'd notice someone looking in through my car window!

I agree a passer by can look at your house from the roadside or end of your drive & I agree that anyone who knows your postcode could find your house & walk / drive past it. The issues here are literally how much you can zoom in. A passer by would only see what is visble from the road / path.
