Lydia
Dunno. But you really should write more poetry like that
kerryegg
Don't want to put you off your tea but are there worms in it? No other ideas. Apparently kennel dogs sometimes have this habit but never heard of chickens eating their own before. Hope it's just a short phase.
tom123
Hopefully just a phase but it could be, as Kerryegg suggested, that there are worms in their poo?
JS1
With dogs you're told to feed them courgettes - puts them off, apparently. Don't know if the same would apply to chickens
WarrensWorld
The thing is they've just been wormed. Alice is the only chook doing it. We're hoping it,s just an aberration, don't know what else it could be,
chickyhazel
Is she lacking in a vitamin? Some chickens eat things like poo and feathers because they are deficient in something. Are the poos runny? Are her eggs soft or smaller than usual? Has she got any other wierd behaviour/ Has she stopped laying? Sorry for the huge list of questions! Ain't Nobody Here
If they've just been wormed, perhaps there ARE worms in the poo?
chickyhazel
Personally I wouldn't expect worms after worming, so I think a deficiency in vitamins
Lewis
Personally I wouldn't expect worms after worming, so I think a deficiency in vitamins Worming gets rid of worms, so worms in poo after is fine ... if not a good sign that the wormer is working
tom123
If the chickens have worms they will be in the poo AFTER worming
sunshinesupernova
can't answer the questions - but my chooks adore courgettes...
