Space Chick
Morning all Gosh compare the chick.com coming to a crazy thread near you, then Boho Rhapsody, then dancing Bush AND I missed Jue. That'll teach me for going to bed. It has been horrendous weather in the night We had hail stones galore. I went out to check on the girls first thing, needed to see that Tegan was OK, as she had been in the cat carrier in the rabbit run on her own She seems fine I'm not letting her sleep alone tonight though, so am going to put big Suze in with her. Right off to work, laters xxx
Cooks
oooh I missed Jue aswell **throws hugs her way** I am not a great trhrow so I hope she catches them... Morning Debs xx Bye Debs xxx dont work too hard.. I have a stonking cold. Hubby just brought home some lucozade (cherry flavour, it has quite a nice taste actually) The kids remembered 5 mins before the school bus that it is NON school uniform today, hence a whirlwind of boys running everywhere.. Valkyrie
Hi peeps. Just been to Alton to see Farm & Country's open day. Had chickens on display. Sorely tempted to get the little speckled pekin, but they came as a pair, so nope - no more chickens. They also had some bantam sussex's - a diddy Squirt and a light one with rooster. Also a seebright pair, a trio of game and some were being ferried away before we could see them. Very small display, but boy were the pekins oiking just like Skye. And the sussex rooster was squeaking too. Erin had her tattoo done, she's quite pleased with it as it was exactly like her design. I wonder where the next one will go. ClaireG
Just went outside as noticed the bantam run door had somehow blown open 5 of them were running round the garden so looked in the coop for the other two. Found one on the nestbox and the other, my beautiful Pumpkin dead

Valkyrie
Hugs Claire. Crikey - no warning signs at all. It's so windy - perhaps something dropped on her.
Valkyrie
Clootie has lost both her rabbits within a day of each other.
ClaireG
She was in the coop but she was always quite a nervy girl. Not sure if the wind could have really spooked her .

Valkyrie
Great day here - the girls all want the nest box - even those that have already laid. Why are some broody when it's freezing out there? The whingeing has me running in and out every five seconds. Even Sadie was sitting on the bench facing the fence and then I heard "MOOOOOOOOOOOOOO" coming from the fields behind the woods. So some are bokking because of the mooooooing and some are just being bolshy. Then the rest join in because everyone else is bokking. Bokking nuisances they are. And why do they start up as soon as I take my coat off eh? EH? Had cold lunch and now cold coffee. I only like cold coffee when it's been Starbucked. Strong black is not nice methinks. Off to sulk. Laura & CTB
I'd pretend to be broody if it was a choice of standing outside freezing in a howling gale or being tucked up in a nice warm cosy nest box
Valkyrie
They are driving me nuts - I'm considering offering Redders one to use as a cowl for her chimney. Another coffee and now lets see if this one gets cold too. And the pheasants are creating in the woods. Perhaps it's the weather - the wind up their bottoms. I remember our old cat used to go bonkers in windy weather.
PurpleTree
Sorry to hear about your chicky Claire, maybe it was the wind that spooked her? I looked out the back earlier and discovered the window had fallen out of the shed and smashed on the patio. Luckily the chooks weren't out at the time. I'm amazed the whole shed hasn't fallen down yet, as it's so rickety. Now got a layers pellets bag tacked over the hole, so I've chickens in the window of the shed. Hope it holds up against the wind
Valkyrie
Seems to have dropped here but it's so cold. Oops tell a lie - the Scots pine over the neighbours house is doing the hippy hippy shake. Now I keep thinking of George W Bush again. Lewissss!!!!!! Couldn't get to sleep last night either - was about 2.30 eventually - naughty GWB dancing.
