hillfamily
I'm pleased to introduce................................. Annie and Clarabel (as in Thomas the Tank Engine's 2 carriages - same colour) Annie and Clarabel Clarabel Annie Annie and Clarabel were rescued at the end of January and could not be rehomed then because they were poorly. Annie has a limp and probably always will do - she has been seen by a vet who thinks it may well be a defect from birth. Clarabel is very underweight - she has almost all her feathers so was probably always at the back of the cage and didn't get to eat much food. They're in their eglu and seem very happy............lots of squawking between them all but it should quieten later

We have good taste down this part of the world... Well, I hope my blue eglu blends in OK with all the purple ones in my area! I am of course in Surrey, not Sussex - so it had to be blue really!!!! hillfamily
All going well so far - Annie and Clarabel have spent all afternoon eating The Other Girls don't seem to fussed by them - just a bit of squawking Just got to get them into the eglu this evening - have told Charlie she can't go out with her friends this evening until they're tucked up (she's the smallest in the family so can fit in an eglu run

hillfamily
All tucked up in bed Charlie had to climb into the run and help them into the eglu I wanted them to go in via the front door rather than taking them out of the run and posting them through the nest box door, so that they learnt the proper way into their eglu I was concerned how Annie would cope in the eglu as having observed her all afternoon, she def has one leg much shorter than the other and spends most of her time standing on her longer leg. She has a very pronounced limp when she walks, in fact she seems to prefer to hop, but she seems to manage and has settled down to sleep OK They've already got bags of character and Clarabel def likes to offer an opinon on everything - if she clucked less she would be able to eat more and could gain some weight as she's very thin ooo - I can't believe I've now got 5 chooks

harveypup
How lovely to see them with the sun on their backs and being able to be "real" chickens. I am sure with your TLC they will continue to improve and thrive. Really for you and them.
