Can anyone recommend me a brand of duvet please. Our high cost down duvet is now going clumpy and it's driving me mad as there's so many cold spots in it each night. I need one that is going to keep us warm but not cause us to overheat if at all possible. Ideally I need to be able to fit it in my washing machine as well. Thanks

I bought one of the wool duvets from the new zealand nature company and its fabulous - light and warm but it will need to go in the launderette washing machine as its a king size - they are more expensive but no cold spots and no clumping! In fact I bought a second one for the spare bed!

Thank you Feeling peeved though now as DH is always warm in bed, infact it's like he's in a sauna sometimes so he doesn't think we need a new duvet

We've just splashed out on a silk duvet from the White Company. Very expensive but keeps you warm in winter and cool in summer. Really love going to bed now.

....or......if you have space for a Superking bed you can have a single size duvet each - pure heaven!

It comes as two duvets so that you get three togs in one, so to speak.

I use their aromatherapy pillows as well and they are gorgeous.

Down shouldn't go clumpy. I've had a goose down (80%) quilt now for several years and it's been brilliant. How long have you had it?

I have two duvets, one for summer and one for winter. Both are kingsized so that they give plenty of overhang on my double bed.

 

The winter one is from M&S, contains fetaher and down, has bene laundered by the local cleaners several times and is still in top condition. The summer duvet is a synthetic fill and gets laundered too. Both have fared well and don't seem to have any odd spots.

I've gone back to using a blanket and my quilt. Much warmer than our duvet and lighter.

Debbie, we've had it for a few years and given how much it cost the quality is rubbish compared to my German down duvet that's over 20 years old. Unfortunately, that's only a double so no use to us.

 

Lesley, we've room for a superking but spending £££ on a new bed, bedding etc isn't an option unfortunately

Just thought I'd update that I ordered a wool one last night. Found a Fogarty one at 50% off and then a further 15% code posted on the www. Hoping it lives up to the hype re regulating body temps.

we have a goose feather one and having the same problem. we have a superking size bed and the duvet on either edge where we sleep is thin and the panel in the middle where we don't is full of feather. No matter how much shaking you do it just does not budge..

It's not here yet and I want it now. Will update when I get it. Edited to add I've just checked their website and it says they're currently working on 5 - 6 days for despatch as they're so busy.

Could they invent one that is OH proof where he doesnt cocoon himself in it and end up looking like a slug That leaves me shivering on the other side - I have thought of getting separate ones but he'd still manage to nab both mind you coming up to that age where the personal central heating will go up the creek so maybe neednt worry

I'm heading for that age as well which is why I've plumped for a wool one. Luckily my DH doesn't grab all the duvet although he does have nights where he trys to-lol

My duvet is being delivered this afternoon. I've got a one hour delivery slot so I can plan my day which I'm very impressed with.

You will love it - believe me as its different from any other duvet I have ever had and its warm and cosy and no cold spots at all. I have just ordered a fogarty wool underblanket from tesco with a £5 off from their site too. Hopefully it will be good too for the winter.

Thought I'd update for anyone interested I know it's only been one night but once I'd got to sleep I didn't wake throughout the night. More often than not DH gets so hot in bed that it wakes me up. Fingers crossed it will be same as the temperatures rise again as it was a lot colder last night.
