Minnie&Moose
Just got home from a weekend away to find that our electric fence had been messed around with (one of the stakes was out of the ground) and lots of white feathers all over the garden. Given that the other 3 chickens were untouched I suspect Myrtle got out into the garden and was later taken by a fox. Unfortunately the person looking after the hens and the cat forgot to come feed the cat and shut up the hens, so the cat's pretty hungry and cross, and Myrtle is no more. I'm furious and sad and feel very guilty - if our friends had done as arranged Myrtle would have rushed up to them for treats and would have been popped back into the cube run where she would have been safe. So, will be asking other friends to look after the menagerie next time. In the meantime my son has lost 2 of his 5 chickens in just over a week - not a happy situation

You did all you could by arranging for someone to look after your pets. It is they who have let you down with awful consequences
