What’s happened to the App?

[johnandkymberley]

Is there anything we can do to prevent flies from coming inside the cube? keep them away etc?

thanks x

I planted a eucalyptus plant in their run, which is meant to have that effect - no flies so far.

[Redwing]

citronella oil diluted and sprayed has an effect

Nettex does a fly spray that has a residual action

Red top fly traps are good

All good options

Ooh this is interesting! I assume that eucalpytus isn't poisonous? I quite fancy a tree in the run!

[johnandkymberley]

Do they peck the plant tho? would it stop flies at the top of the cube?

[theherd123]

I add citronella oil to pieces of kitchen towel and rest them in the grooves at the edge of the cube roof - no flies in my chooks house

[sparkysmum]

I do something similar - I put citronella on a piece if toweling & attach it to the WIR. Never had a fly problem ........so far ( htere should be a fingers crossed smilie) Axx

Your local pharmacy will be the cheapest and could order it in if they don't normally stock it.

I use a mix of citronella and eucalyptus oils on some kitchen roll and pop it between the run roof and the clear tarp that covers it.

[Plum]

I just ordered some online Viovet 100ml for £4.17 seemed reasonable compared with other places.
