thenewchick
Hi After worming my hens how long would it be before she would start laying eggs again? My Hen has stopped laying eggs and has a pinkish comb. I have given all my hens Verm X for two days now and have one days left to give it. Thank you. Chucky Mama
I would personally suggest that you give them a course of flubenvet if you think they have worms.
staceychristie
I Agree with ChickenMama. I used VernX as a Preventer - But they still got worms. Flubenvet 'Sorted' it ( Yeewww in Poooooo) Stacey

Plum
I would check for mites too if she has a pink rather than red comb.
Jools
While it's crucial to have a good worming routine - whatever it is - what makes you think they've stopped laying because of a worm infestation? I'd be interested to hear how old they are and what their history is too.
thenewchick
Well, I have only had the chickens two weeks and two days now. 1 hen has laid an egg every day since I got her(she had one day off). The hen that I think has the worms has only layed 2 eggs one the next day after we got her then had a day off then layed another egg and then stopped!! I think they are about 1 year old. I was reading in the Omlet book that I got with the Eglu that if they stop laying eggs and have a pinkish comb they most propably have worms!! That is what made me think they have them. Oh and they seem to have very watery poos!!
Christian
Watery poos could be a sign of many things unfortunately. If they are hot, they will drink more resulting in watery droppings. Any evidence of worms in the droppings? Pale combs can also be an indication of lice/mites so check around the vent area and under the wings. If they are a year old, they could be moulting. Any sign of feathers around? Hope they start laying again soon.
