School holidays, well this ridiculously long summer one anyway

 

Cue vandalism, extra security in the pound shops and bored children underfoot everywhere

 

I loved the school hols with my daughter. We used to have such great times. I wouldn't have missed it for the world.

It's hard when you have to work though and can't be with them 100% of the time. I wish they'd break it down into more manageable sized chunks.

It would be better in some ways if it was only about a month, but it can be hard to fit in a holiday when everyone wants the same time off, so I suppose it has to be 6 weeks really. I love the time with my children and the feeling of freedom when they break up is lovely. Having said that I am lucky to be able to work from home a lot of the time and now the children are older I am happy to leave them for the odd day when I do have to be in the office.

There seem to be an awful lot of family members in this room, it sounds like a nightmare place, which is the idea. Perhaps they'll make wonderful new friendships? Someone's parent & someone elses offspring or OH.

I agree! I've had them a few times, raw and cooked, and they are vile! I wanted to try them a few times just to make sure I really did hate them....and I do!

I will third this one - they are awful things

I am always tempted to try them again,but the 2 times I have had them raw was just the worst experience.

 

Don't mind them grilled though,with some Parmesan
