Raina
BOO!!!!!!! If that didn't work My mum said have a really (But not too) hot bath....That worked for her when i was 2 weeks over due.
CallyChook
given the hot bath a go... not feeling any different still feeling a bit... well, any ladies who take up the offer of smear tests will know exactly that post-smear feeling. But nothing fantastic, and easily ignorable. my friend ashleigh has just texted to say she had a sweep at 1pm with her laddy (now about 1.5 months old) and she started at abour 2am, so not to give up hope and it might start overnight. The midwife said it could take up to 48 hours. Any twinges and I'll post on here, gonna go watch masterchef now
jill the potter
surely that baby must be feeling the vibes.................they are just as fickle as chickens!!!!!! p.s. I went into labour whilst tiling the bathroom if that helps!!!!

Chucky Mama
Morning CC. Do you have a bathroom that needs doing up then? It would be a win win situation
CallyChook
my bathroom ceiling is all mouldy as the vent has broken.... but hubby has banned me from stepladders on pain of removing the mains electric on saturday and cutting off my weekly strictly fix. I'm not risking that one! So far today have put aload of laundry in, filled up both coal scuttles, cleaned the grate out and lit a fire, hung out a load of wet on a maiden in the lounge, dressed myself (often this is neglected til mid morning these days!!), fed cats and chooks and released the birds into the garden, fed the child, watched the tweenies, done the morning washing up and sorted thru some dry clothes and put away. I'm bored now....

Lesley
Hmmmmmm - how about planning to have a lazy day then, find some cooking chocolate in the back of the cupboard.....tie the 3 year old to a chair in front of the TV ( )............feet up.........tell that baby you're having a day off.....she's sure to disrupt your plans then
CallyChook
so far that's what's happening, minus the cooking choc. Getting rapidly very fed up of kids telly though I have to admit. Have done a bit of cross stitch, but it kinda drives me mad with the wee man chattering all the time while I'm trying to count the different numbers of stitches I've done in pale gray, pale charcoal, and light pale gray Very very bored, yet listless. I could just fall asleep.... except then I'd wake up to the sound of sirens as they come to arrest me, having slept while my son escaped the house and was found wandering the wilds... or he might just go for a traditional complete-house destruction avec squirty paint and PVa glue. That was last week. It's a good job we never did manage to save up for the big lounge carpet, as it now has a 1x1.5 foot puddle of red paint residue, the pink vile armchairs have a PVA gloss coating, and there's sharpie marker all along one arm and about 3 foot of carpet. That destruction was caused by me needing to go to the bathroom while we tidied up - and he spied the "crafting box" on the glass table and climbed up onto it to retrieve said articles of destruction. I was only gone maybe three minutes.
Aunty e
I had my sweep at 9 am, and didn't get any feeling of labour until 4am the next morning when I woke up with contractions. I really sympathise, I spent the last couple of days shouting at the baby to get out.
scarlettohara
I went into labour after moving a huge solid pine wardrobe across the room. Unfortunately I was only 28 weeks pregnant so wasn't a very bright thing to do (I was nesting ) boys were born 2 weeks later - small but healthy Fingers crossed it's today (oh and they once smeared sudocream all over our new lounge carpet while I had a nap )
chicken bark
It was middle childs 2nd birthday and my eldest son was 3. He came down to a house full of guests after his afternoon nap covered head to toe in Sudocrem. He said he was trying to be the Numbertaker from the Numberjacks. Bless. I was cleaning sudocrem hand prints off the doors and walls for weeks.
CallyChook
that stuff sticks like beggary, we've had a little on the fingers but nothing quite that covered. Although realising that sudocrem would turn you into the numbertaker is quite impressive... my son just nicks the furniture attachment from the dyson when he's being the evil white one! Been on an hour's walk round delamere forest, we got too bored and he was getting right on my...wick. Bit of a daft thing to do as if I had started, it's not like a car could have come to my rescue I would have had to be stretchered out of the forest. But nothing happened anyways except now my pelvic pain is back with a vengeance that normally reserves itself to when I'm trying to sleep. Five days late now and counting. Maybe a touch of furniture removal after my cheese and picalilly butty??
Aunty e
I'd say so. Have you tried nipple stimulation? You need to do it a lot, but it can help, even if you feel like a total prat. Hunt about on the internet for a description of the best way to do it, not sure a description is appopriate for a family forum
CallyChook
lol, yes have tried it, including the best instructions... will pm lol
goodinparts
When #3 was late it was a walk in the woods that got me started....because DD got lost. I think the adrenaline rush involved in hunting a 5 year old in several acres of National Trust woodland kick started must have kick started all sorts of other things. Maybe a minor fright of some kind....
Happy chickens!
Maybe a minor fright of some kind.... I don't live too far away..... what can I do?
CallyChook
*giggling* send a couple of huge spiders this way.... I have actually physically wet myself in the past when I got trapped in the chicken shed by two monsters both over the door way on the inside!! On second thoughts.... I'd rather stay pregnant than have spiders near me. Went on a walk for an hour in delamere forest with minime, thought the option of waters breaking whilst stranded mid-forest might have worked but to no avail. I do have the ever-so-slight odd feeling happening though. Probably nothing but I will keep updating!

CallyChook
Me! I'm due in mid-Jan Nothing to do with a bad winter in my case....it was the run up to the election and there was nothing bearable to watch on the telly HAha! I love it!! We just got broody I think caught first month trying after my coil was taken out, I was hoping it would take about 6 months and I would have a nice bump to keep me cosy over the winter like I did with my son... hubby must just be too fertile! Good luck Looney, and all the other hatchers out there
coco
Two of my kids were exactly a week late. The youngest on the day we broke up for Easter after having a week of being asked stupid questions such as are you still here. Baby will come when you are least expecting it, I was discussing what colour egg to have an my eldest sons mini egg cake when my waters broke in the kitchen. CallyChook
31 hours post sweep, and nowt. REally bored now. My son goes to nursery tomorrow but I have been sotearful today that I am tempted to keep him home for company. Bad mummy - nursery is the only chance he has to mingle with kids his own age. I have zero cash so wont be doing anything for fun. All the house is clean and tidy. Hmmm, I need something to do that wont hurt and will keep me entertained!!
