Janepie33
Did anyone watch Giles Coren and Sue Perkins re-enacting 'The Good Life' this evening. Sue mentioned Eglus a couple of times and then they showed a yellow one very very briefly. The programme was quite interesting and showed some lovely light Sussex hens. bigmommasally
Great Programme - The hens are lovely but I'm a bit worried by the fence, it doesn't look very fox proof. I love the goats and the fact that they made goats cheese so easily. And I loved Sue's patchwork skirt
Lesley
I found the programme irritating but I'll still watch the rest. I know they have to make TV but it just felt like they were playing at it. Good to see that glimpse of the yellow Go though. I had half an allotment in the mid 70s - it wasn't difficult to do proper research in the library, read John Seymour or Lawrence Hills, and work out where to plant things

Margalot
I was really lloking forward to this, but also found it a bit irritating. I loved all their other jaunts at eating from different eras etc. But got a bit irritated when they doubled the hright of the chicken fence so the foxes couldnt jump, but what about them digging underneath?? i know it was meant to be funny etc etc, but I had switched off half way through and finished reading Chris Evans autobiography part 2......much more entertaining!! Mercedes55
We caught up with it on iPlayer today. It was funny but I thought Giles was a right wuss being so scared of the chickens. They both seemed quite clueless regarding foxes and I don't know why they spent so long catching the hens to put them into the coop when it was quite clear that they knew how to get in and out without any help. Nice hens though
