bluekarin
We noticed our local Waitrose petrol station had run out of diesel last night. This was after a week of signs saying they were running low. Hubby was driving to see a customer today near Eastleigh and he said there were quite a few which said they were low or run out of diesel. I've Googled it, but can't see a reason why. Anyone have any ideas?

Bramble
Hello! My Mum told me last week that she had read in her local paper (Birmingham Mail) that diesel stocks were running low. I don't think she said why, but I assumed it was 'cos of the dodgy weather. I don't think Hampshire (I think that's where EAstleigh is? ) was too badly affected by the weather though, was it? C&T
Same as the post issues I think - the Tankers have been stuck in the snow as well so are behind in their deliveries -resulting in some stations running low/running out. No problems with supply - just the distribution as I understood it. Guess they'll catch up soon enough... Hopefuly before any more snow arrives! bluekarin
That's what I thought, but as hubby pointed out, we have a refinery near us in Marchwood, and although we did have quite a bit of snow, it wasn't as much as Scotland. Well, we did have. Just Googled it and its closed down - thought it had. So all the fuel for all the countries petrol stations comes from Grangemouth? Madness. sjp
main problem is that folk are filling up more just in case it happens every winter. one supermarket near me gets fuel every day but still has trouble keeping up this time of year

Griffin
I had no choice but to fill my beloved car up with diesel today because it's got a dodgy battery and on one of it's more shakey days I cannot afford to turn the engine off at the local petrol station because it might not get going again I've now got enough diesel to last over a week and certainly until I can go and buy a new battery. Laura & CTB
CTB is a fuel tanker driver working out of Purfleet. Their tankers are still going out in the snow but on lots of occasions are just running out of driving hours due to the traffic. Took CTB 5 hours to drive 1/2 mile last time it was bad
Christian
I know that the petrol station near Terminal 4 at Heathrow has a pipeline to Southampton. They never run out of fuel. During the fuel crisis a couple of years ago, work managed to get us 'priority' queue jumping so that we could come to work. Unfortunately. Old Speckled Hen
No problem here save the price I have a little diesel Peugeot and it cost me £65 to fill the tank When it was still filling at £55 I glanced underneath the car to see if any was spilling out fool!!! I have never spent that much on fuel. My first car was a Mini and it cost me £5 to get from home to uni 400 miles away
