Groovychook
For the first few years that we lived in Cheltenham there was a brewery here and I hated the smell that came from it When I lived in Cheltenham, we used to live just around the corner from there and I used to find it overpowering! My OH, who's a Cheltonian, loved it though...

yvonne
Margalot, my dogs paws smell of warm earth/grass with a hint of dog ! Told my OH about this thread yesterday and he sniffed the dog paws and also quite liked it but he wondered whether it's just your own dog you like - would it be too wierd for me to start sniffing other dog paws to find the answer to this ? Old Speckled Hen
Margalot, my dogs paws smell of warm earth/grass with a hint of dog ! That's the smell I guess most dogs' paws are similar My old cat however is a different kettle of bleeeeeeeeeurghhhhh. Her paws smell of poo Even though they look clean I sometimes get a whiff when she climbs on me to plink her nails. Must be the way they use their cat litter would it be too wierd for me to start sniffing other dog paws to find the answer to this ? Errrrrrrr you might get a few raised eyebrows
The Dogmother
Margalot, my dogs paws smell of warm earth/grass with a hint of dog ! Exactly! I like the smell of my cats too; they smell of clean fresh air.
yvonne
I agree about cat paws, my old cat's paws ponged - probably partly my fault as sometimes I left the cat litter a bit too long between changes, but even so ...
newcountrygirl
I always sniff my dog Ziggy's head when she sits on my knee for a cuddle - she still smells like a puppy to me and I love it (even though she is now 2)

C&T
Febreze fabric freshner.....Yuk Frebreze on smelly fabric.....Yukity yuk With you there! I have strong views on Febreze - all anti! If something is filthy and smelly - wash it, don't try and cover it up with more smelly stuff. And WHY on the old advert was she spraying her bin?? If it smells - put it outside!! chickencam
I think that Febreze must have been invented by a teenage boy, because they seem to think that a quick spray of Lynx or the like can substitute for a bath I don't see the difference why put another smell on something to cover up a bad smell, why not give it a good wash or if it is really not washable, then a surafce wipe at least, and a good airing outside. Alis girls
I hate Lynx and could bless my friend for buying it for ES for Christmas - he sprays it on with gay abandon - but he showers daily. Horrible smell - like a house of ill repute

Yorkshire Pudding
I hate Lynx and could bless my friend for buying it for ES for Christmas - he sprays it on with gay abandon - but he showers daily. Horrible smell - like a house of ill repute That sounds familiar - ES (11 going on 12) loves the Lynx shower gel, in all it's technicolour varieties. The bathroom is full of it & smells like a t*rt's boudoir - but at least he washes!
