Griffin
I don't know of anybody with a Columbine/Skyline that lays a coloured egg I used to have two, one died soon after I bought her and the other laid cream eggs. Last year I decided to hatch some blue/green egg layers so I bought some eggs on Ebay, dad was a Cream Legbar and it was claimed the girls would lay coloured eggs. Anne of Cleeves laid her first egg today and guess what colour it is? CREAM! I love her to bits even if she doesn't lay pretty eggs Edited February 17, 2011 by Guest

Olly
I had a blue egg-layer last year, but she never seemed to thrive and died suddenly only a few weeks after coming into lay. I reckon the ten or so eggs she produced worked out at about £2 each!
craftyhunnypie
I wanted Columbines once, but got Betty Boop my Araucana instead. She lays lovely green eggs. You could always paint yours! (sorry). Emma.x

Plum
You lot are so cruel Send her one of your fertile eggs to hatch a female one.
Griffin
I'd only hatch a boy from it Six eggs hatched, four were boys and are currently being fattened up for a pie

Aunty e
I've had three, one died early, one got eaten by a fox and one has just come into lay. Blue, green and blue eggs though. Why not get an araucana - ours was brilliant (if a bit violent) and laid every day nearly.
chestnutmare
My columbine is laying a green egg. Can't believe my luck. I'm really fond of Willow. She is a little crazy although she lays well.
WitchHazel
Why not try a pure breed cream legbar? Guarantee of egg colour that way. I have one. She's a bit of a nutjob though, I put it down to her not being able to see out of one side due to the floppy comb.
lillybettybabs
Fran looks like a CLB and is nutty too!
..lay a little egg for me
2 columbines, both lay green Ditto. I noticed that they have a greenish tinge to their earlobes, what colour are your girls' earlobes? I know that white earlobes means white eggs and red ones mean brown eggs, so perhaps a greenish tinge is an indication of green eggs? Griffin
I hereby offer a sincere apology to Anne of Cleeves The egg I thought was hers was actually a Silkie egg. The reason I know this is because yesterday I found her sitting on this gorgeous egg: Anne of Cleeves, Mummy loves you and is sorry to have ever doubted you
