Word of Warning - Chirpy Coops

Recommended Posts

I think that they have clearly been reliable in the past and probably deserved the good reviews they have received, but something must have happened recently and this has resulted in the terrible service. It is such a shame :(

But it won't do them any favours being abusive and uncooperative :shameonu:

I absoulutely agree having been on the receiving end of that abuse! :x

I have now ordered my run from A4U. It's worked out slightly cheaper than CC would have been and Lewis has been pretty prompt with all his correspondence, etc. He even came out to our house to have a look and help me choose an appropriate place for the run to go (although we aren't that far away from where he's based). Keeping my fingers crossed it will all be OK!

if you do get your money back i can recomend this bloke

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=160535673460&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT

he will put kickboards on it for you :D

i had my first run from him ,he delivered it and had it together in about 20 mins ,and i love it so much that ive just had a extention from him

the only problem is at the moment his van has broken down so he is using a curiour but it arrived all labeld and with all the screws part in so me and my mum had it togeter in less than a hour

i know he doesnt have a lot of feedback but im guessing lots of people do what i did and phone him and do it off ebay ,also he took cash on delivery . i always find that better

I can also recommend these people, they made my run (which you've seen Spacechick) and were very reasonable indeed and took in my changes very happily. Carla is lovely over the phone. I think the reason their feedback is low is that they've changed their Ebay name, also you're right people do contact them directly. I did that because the size I wanted wasn't the one which was listed, so I contacted them by email and then paid by cash on the day too, better for them as no nasty Ebay fees to pay!!

PS so sorry you're having problems with CC, hope you get your money back soon. He doesn't realise how much repeat business he has just lost as a bad experience reported on here soon gets around!!

Hi there. Same happened to me - ordered and paid Chirpy Coops - 2 missed deliveries - numerous emails and calls to follow up with no response at all. I've also paid through PayPal and escalated a dispute into a claim. My timings were similar to yours and the dispute is awaiting response from Chirpy Coops (due Wednesday!). I'm not hopeful that CC will respond - hopefully PayPal will see me right.

Thankfully I have not yet got any chooks so at least there's no issue that they have nowhere to live! Am now looking at A4U as an alternative - so glad to see so many positive comments about them. I'm a bit out of their area, but they're still going to deliver and erect the run for me - just costing a bit more! Ho hum.

Never before have I been so glad that I have so little money...I'd always planned to use CC when I needed to extend my WIR...as it happened, the money was needed elsewhere and so I'm building it myself. What a blessing in disguise!!

I hope everyone who has been affected gets their money back. This is awful!! Especially as so many people here recommended them!! :x

Has anyone reported them to trading standards or similar yet? Clearly this needs to be addressed in a more significant manner as there will be people paying in cash or by cheque and won't be protected!!

Space Chick: I will post my updates through this forum - look forward to yours also!

Chuckmum6: You're right, their website still seems functional although has not been updated for a while now. They also used to trade through Ebay but I think their account has now been disabled - there are no items currently on sale.

I feel quite let down by the whole thing. Whilst I presume that they are having some business issues (maybe related to the fire they had last year) I think it's awful that the customers have been treated so poorly. They have quickly destroyed the goodwill / reputation they had - such a shame.
