well now i'm pretty much sorted with run and house i decided it was time to get my accessories sorted...and i saw some lovely lilac coloured wellies on ebay...as usual..i was outbid..booh!

Do you have a preference for long wellies, short wellies or ankle type wellies..?

If it is wellies for chicken/duck keeping then I prefer long ones in the Winter. Helps keep my legs dry when spraying water into the duck pond.

 

In the Summer I just wear my fitflops as they can be easily washed.

I have ankle wellies and I love them, I find long wellies don't fit (fat legs ) and my feet feel claustrophobic!

I have some normal wellies but i usually keep them at school..and i find them a bit tight on my calves..

 

i thought shorter ones might be easier to get on and off..then i thought the clog ones might be even easier..and theres so many colours on ebay....

I have flowery clog ones for bobbing down the garden to the hens as I can kick them on and off (the clogs, not the hens!)....then full length men's wellies (usually bigger in the calf) for serious stuff

Sorry to laugh but thats v funny....i have a not as weird phobia-i am terrified of worms..and i have a relative who has a button phobia...i think mine is easier to live with!

 

I have been looking rfor the croc type wellies-i wondered why there werent many around!!

I'm going into manchester today at some point so i'll have a good look around! The Aldi ones only went up to a size 6 and I need a 7 or i would have got those

My ED has a button phobia, especially if they are used as eyes in anything. This started when she read Coraline. Totally freaked her out.

 

As for wellie bobs. I have a long pair but am thinking of getting a short pair for just nipping up to the chickens house as it is such a faff putting the things of over my jeans for just a short quick trip. Especially if I am bringing in their water to clean and refill.

Yes I know its funny but being surgically extracted from my wellies is not something I enjoy and tight jumpers - dont go there

I have take size 9 (used to take a 10 but feet shrunk when I lost weight) so find it difficult to find pretty wellies.

So I have a pair of slip-on shoes the type with no heal bit sort of like a mule – for just a quick visit for eggs/ checking food & water.

For cleaning out I do have some wellies just boring blue which I cut down to just below calf height - I have large calf muscles

After getting some really lovely Joules Carrick yard boots before Christmas and having two replacements sent out after they disintegrated, I came to the conclusion that Joules boots are fro decoration rather than any sort of protective wear. I now have a lovely pair of super tough neoprene muck boots which I love to bits.

I've got some Joules ankle wellies, and they've lasted really well, in salt and fresh water, mud snow, the lot. They are easier to get on and off than long ones, and mine are really comfortabl too

I understand from the stockist that all of the stock they had in that style has been returned to Joules, as have various other Joules boots they had in stock.
