We had our last night - the fish & chips was fantastic

We had my daughter and her bf round lastnight. I got the bolognaise bake, chunky chips, chocolate cheesecake slice things and a bottle of red. Also got the vegetarian pasta bake for me and dave and did a few more chips and some garlic bread, was v nice

I missed the last Dine In offer but I've had an e-mail for MSE that indicates there will be a Dine in for £15 for 4 people for Mothers day. Nothing on the M&S website yet. Anyone got any advance details?

Notes: From Thurs 31 Mar get a roast dinner for four for £15.

Main dishes include a beef joint, half a leg of lamb or a salmon joint. Sides include roasting potatoes, carrot and swede crush or traditional roasting vegetables.

 

Puddings include Belgian chocolate, salted caramel and pecan torte, sticky toffee pudding or key lime traybake.

 

Drinks include Glera Prosecco frizzante or Freedom Ridge shiraz, or a twin pack of grape juice

 

I understand that they will be doing their Mother's day dine in offer this week, although I've not received any emails yet.

Super - the Mothers day ones are very good.

Yes, I have now trained Phil to cook their meal deals, so between him and Rosie (who is a good cook) I should have a nice meal on Sunday, then it's off to see the outlaws fro the afternoon and walk the dogs on the farm.

The meat will freeze without a doubt. Some of the side orders would be suitable for freezing - you'd have to check the individual labels. Ditto the desserts, it depends what you pick, the sticky toffee pudding sounds a good candidate for freezing.

How long will you need to delay eating it for? Check the best before date carefully too, some things will last a while in the fridge.

Got mine today - plenty of choice & the half legs of Lamb were HUGE, & sell for up to £16 on their own

I got the ready to roast lamb this time, but I may pop back down tomorrow to get another one to stick in the freezer for Easter

hmm..i do wish they would give more options for veggies-the mothers day one only had a pasta bake..and guess what, this weekends only has the same 1 choice..except its not a choice if theres only one..i might email them about it...not sure it'll be worth the effort tho

Just a heads up.. If there are no vegetarian options on display then ask a manager if there is anything else you can have. They often will give you a 'contingency' offer. They will just price correct your transaction at the till. Worth a try, that's what we do at our store anyway.

 

I do agree that the vegetarian options in general are limited but I do remember the goats cheese tarts in a 4 pack were also on the Mother's day offer as well as the Pasta Bake.

Yes, I remember those goat's cheese tarts Martin - I fancied them, but Phil isn't keen, so we had summat else.

thanks for that, I will try to see if I can get a veggie main when they run out in future-I'm not mnormally brave enough but i'll give it a go..I must have missed the goats cheese tarts last time, there was def only pasta at our little M&S

Just to let you know that the contingency for this dine in (vegetarian) are the Filled red peppers, vegetable mousakka and goats cheese and onion tartlets.

Ours is only a small Simply Food and never has the full choice in for either vegetarian or carnivores.
