Cinnamon
Was going to get it today, but the traffic into town was awful,so after seeing the local forecast,I decided to do my weekend shop today instead & found that Waitrose have one on too Thats Sunday sorted
bluekarin
I was in Waitrose today. I didn't go to the fridge meals bit, so didn't realise. But I did get their free paper and it said about it in there. I think I shall get theirs depending of what is on offer. The last time we had a dine in meal from there, we weren't that impresses. bluekarin
Here it is http://www.waitrose.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/DisplayPromotionCmd?bundleId=WRG1vdmd1 I am going to see what our local has as the food on offer looks lovely. Not to mention the lovely bottle of fizz
Eggasperated
Oh - that sounds nice, but we don't have a Waitrose anywhere near here .
Cinnamon
The stuffed Duck breast was HUGE. The salmon dish was a fair old size too. I got the chicken with brandy, red wine & mushrooms,as it looked delicious The red wine is very, very nice indeed (no,I haven't made an early start - I have tried it before),& great value in the offer,as it is normally about £11 I think. bluekarin
We were going to get the duck, roasting veg, green veg in cream sauce, pate starter, panacotta and passion fruit and a bottle of the rose cava, only to discover a lot of the things are eat by 11th or 12th! It doesn't say they are freezable either. What is the point of doing an offer like that with those foods, if they won't last until the day in question? Crazy! Back to plan A and M&S tomorrow *sigh*
Cinnamon
Ah well,we are having ours on Sunday, when we are child free. Never do celebrate Valentines anyhow
TAJ
Hmm not sure about it this time. Wonder how many chocs in the box . 9 chocs in the box and all sparkly deep purple and dark pink dusting on the truffles. I bought the deal today - yes it was £20, but price saved was over £10 - the steaks were over £9, plus the pink cava was over £8 - it is more upmarket than the normal £10 deal, plus a starter & chocs to the normal main, side & desert. pips_pekins
Was in town today so popped in to M&S to see what they had. I went for the seabass. All the dishes looked good and more choice I think than the £10 deal. Saved £14 on the individual prices. Now have to resist it all until Tuesday
TAJ
They are also doing another £5 meal deal which is a choice of different stews (with dumplings) or a large steak or chicken pie, plus mash (some of these more fancy than others), plus a bag of veg (we had carrots, broccoli & asparagus - others available. Certainly feeds 3 for us well for £5 on a working day. Tracy
The Dogmother
I like those deals too I have to admit to splashing out on 2 of the valentine's deals - we've had one which was delicious. I am saving the other one for tomorrow evening.
craftyhunnypie
Hubby has a voucher for M&S. Normally we would have got one of these deals, but I can't eat any of it. I can't even go out for a meal this year. We really wanted to go the Hafod Hotel at Devils Bridge for their outstanding Valentine's menu. Usually about 8 courses. Nevermind. j00lz_12366
Went to get this quite late today and i didnt expect anything veggie left so I was pleasantly surprised.. We had a Mushroom Risotto and layered veg and I bought additional brocolli-to be honest it's a good job I did-the risotto is very nice but tiny. Finished off with the apple and blackberry pie, with a bottle of red..all very tasty!
Cinnamon
Mothers Day one announced HERE Sorry, but it doesn't look anything too special to me ,apart that it feeds 4 rather than 2....might have expected some choccies or something too. That said,we are having roast lamb this weekend anyhow,so will price compare a joint at work to this one & see where I can get the best deal.
