oneyolktoanother
well as you all know we lost out barnebar Pip in the week and her friend Daisy Cream legbar has been abit quiet even though she is next to the other 2 but can't be put together due to bullying etc. So me and the oh have spoken and we are going to wernlas tomorrow just to look he says but i think that if you just look it would be such a wasted journey as Daisy is quite small for a cream legbar and very active(into everything) we want to try and get the same temperment so phoned the wernlas and explained the situation and said i liked the frisians they said they should go togther well but maybe the buff rocks would go better the only thing that does worry me that Daisy can be a little "Ooops, word censored!" sometimes. But would take intros very slowly etc. At the same time i don't want to replace my princess Pip, but do feel that she could do with a friend. Has anyone any good suggestions on breeds that are very active? Edited April 2, 2011 by Guest
JillM
I got my pair of cream legbar girls from Wernlas, and I'd like to get more from them if only I could eat the eggs fast enough! Would you not like another cream legbar? - I think they're perfect

chestnutmare
OOo, exciting! Take lots of pics when you bring the newbiw(s) home... I'm taking it that you'll get at least one.
craftyhunnypie
You normally have to pre order your girls from Wernlas. Lots of demand for different breeds this time of year & he normally has a waiting list / order list. You can take home hatching eggs or day old chicks there and then - but obviously unsexed. Good luck. Emma.x
Tweety
How about a Wernlas Olive? They are a cross between a Cream Legbar and, I think, a Cobar and lay a green egg. So would probably be similar in temperament and appearance to your CL, but with a slightly different colour egg. You may have to ring them first - as Craftyhunnypie says they usually have a waiting list!

Chortle Chook
How good are you at putting one in a box while holding another behind your back and two might make the intros easier
craftyhunnypie
Just tell your OH that easter eggs make you fat & if he wants you to keep your beautiful figure - then he can buy you a rare breed! Emma.x

JillM
Congrats on being able to make a choice! No, I don't have any problems with pecking and the legbars. As they were the last to be introduced they are on the lowest ranking in the coop but you'd hardly notice now they have settled in. I'd dearly like to get 2 or 4 more chickens, but we have a glut of eggs at the moment as it is!
