The Dogmother
No thanks! Just a thought, but would the toaster ensure that it is adequately re-heated to make the 'meat' safe to eat?
rachel19
I can't think of anything worse than meat flavoured pop tarts - very bizarre!
sage
Don't think they will be finding a home in my kitchen. They reminded me of them Findus pancakes you could get in the 70's Sage
LuckyChickenLover-
Uhhgg that looks horrible If 60% is chicken, what's the other 40%? Not all of it is the bread/ breadcrumbs whatever it is that covers the meat surely?
Yorkshire Pudding
No thanks! Goodness only knows where that 'meat' comes from.

Lewis
Not gonna lie, my friend bought some and said they were alright. We would have got some more but they'd sold out when we were there

LuckyChickenLover-
THIS is probably worse...................... That's crazy You've probably wondered why your children did not like vegetables. The company Babyfood found the answer to the question that all parents are asking The principle is: it's because children eat jars of vegetables in their childhood that they can no longer bear to eat when they grow up. To counter this wave of protest child, designers have found a solution: just give them junk food in jars! But yes, how there had we not thought of it sooner? The argument advanced by the company that produces these appetizing meals is that the trend will be reversed when he is older, your child will not want to eat dirt and quietly swallow his vegetables. Errrr... no. The reason that children 'don't eat vegetables' is because they taste worse than junk food...

I'm sure its the oppositeI wasn't fed jars of baby food ( i don't think so anyway..) and was just fed mainly proper food. I don't know if it has anything to do with it but now I like everything! Theres only one thing I hate and thats mousakka I love brussels too
PurpleTree
Are those jars for real?? I've fed all my babies jars & the 2 eldest love veg, they will happily eat a plate of it with a Sunday roast. One of the faves being broccoli & they will eat sprouts too. Sure Ben will be exactly the same as he gets older.
craftyhunnypie
Oh, what is the world coming to? A world of junk food & health problems! I can't think of anything so yukky! My sister used to be mad on Pop tarts when younger & she was allowed Mr Kipling chocolate slices with Evap milk for breakfast!! Naughty, naughty parents! Lucky for me - I was into yoghurt big time - so had that for brekkie or Weetabix. Don't get me started on junk food! Oh & Lewis - you'll be invited for your tea real soon..will Pot Noodle be ok? bluekarin
The first doesn't appeal at all and the second link I watched a programme on BBC3 about babies and junk food last night. One baby eating chips, kebab and up to 6 cans of coke a day! Another with a young teen mum who had a heart attack at 16 (I think) who the dr's said they couldn't find a reason why she had one - she never cooked her 3 year old son a meal as every one was fast food! Just incredible.

sage
I taped that & will watch with interest (& horror!) Just seen it on iplayer. how can some people be so stupid with the health of a child. I can sympathize with the couple who had the boy who had recovered from meningitis but the others. To me it’s a form of abuse letting a child eat nothing but takeaways and drink 6 cans of cola a day. craftyhunnypie
Do you feel sorry for me then? The crisper salad box in our fridge ( as youngsters living at home) was always stuffed with kitkats & choccy bikkies. Don't worry Lewis - Instant whip for pudding! Guest
sometimes only junk food will do. As long as you don't eat it all the time, what's the big deal? I used to love 'tasty toast toppers' when i was a kid and still crave the odd pot noodle but mostly we make our own meals from scratch and grow a fair bit of it. Doesn't stop me wanting the odd naughty treat. apart from them not containing free range chicken or free range bacon or eggs, i don't see the problem with them. Is there anyone here who NEVER eats anything naughty? I doubt it
Guest
by the way, you can buy special bags to make toasted sandwiches in, we often have a homemade croque monsieur, dead easy to do with the toastie bags. right, i know what i'm having for lunch now! The Dogmother
I try desperately to avoid junk food - the additives have a nasty effect on me - stinging lips and palpitations with some of them. I do like the odd bag of crisps though.
