pips_pekins
So excited Collecting two new chickens today. Not sure how we are all going to cope with the introduction process but am not feeling as nervous as when we got our first two (although this may be me being naive/stupid) Have bought expanding trellis to divide the run down the middle. The theory is that to reach food and water, I can push the trellis back a bit . I have an extra glug/grub and grit pot. For now, the new girls will sleep in the cat box. Think we are all ready! Please let me know if it looks like I have forgotten anything We are getting a frizzle pekin and a bantam laced wyandotte . Will try to update with photos later. Hope you all have a great day. Plum
smashing look forward to seeing them. I used some expanding trellis in the cube run as a door in the partition, it worked fine.

pips_pekins
Got my two new girls yesterday and they seem to be ok. One of them has had strange poo - sort of a puddle with a poo in it. Hopefully nothing to be worried about??? I know what you all want, so here are the pictures Bramble is such a sweet little frizzle pekin and Mildred is a beautiful bantam buff laced wyandotte. They slept last night in the cat box as it was more cosy for them (I popped some little bowls of food and water in when I woke them up to check they were eating and drinking ok. They then enjoyed climbing (and pooing!) all over the box:- As I got them from different places, I was a bit concerned about how they would get on especially given the difference in size. So far, no problems Even when they are feeding, they stand very close to each other and eat without any pushing or pecking. DS says that Bramble looks like a hamster with a beak

pips_pekins
Ooo a frizzle Lavender ...............I miss my little Oak, who I lost a few days ago.....one day we'll have another similar little girl Sha x Sorry to hear you have recently lost your little Oak. Just adorable! How old are they? The pekin is about 9 weeks and the wyandotte is about a week older. They are both such pretty girls and Bramble is sooo cute. However, turns out she is a feisty little madam and last night she jumped up at poor Mildred, grabbed her chest feathers and would not let go. She then repeated this a second time. Things seem to have settled down now thank goodness but I am keeping my eye on her. Talk about looks being deceiving
