1st mediation session tomorrow - over for now !

Recommended Posts

Um, no idea what goes in those things. I'd try to stay as calm as possible, be as clear as possible, get across what I'd like to get out of it. Oh, and not get too emotional. But me being me, I'd do the complete opposite of all of it  Seriously though, good luck and don't forget you have Omleteer power behind you :D

I'd suggest making a list of points you want to get across. And try not to react negatively if you feel you are being accused of anything. Take a breath before answering like in an interview to give yourself a moments thinking time.

Hope all goes well for you x

Is it just me that misreads mediation as meditation?

Thanks, will take all advice on board. I have had a prior meeting with just the mediator so she has a note of my expectations, my solicitor told me I don't have to actually say anything - just listen and report back. Feel very nervous though which is silly as I spent 20 years of my adult life with this person :(

Well he was rude, lost his temper, ranted and raved and made me look like Mother Theresa  He refused to budge over finances so looks like it will go to court even though the mediator explained that the court would look at his income compared to mine and may possibly ask him to pay spousal maintenance

Having just received my solicitor's bill includng next months retainer in anticipation of court costs, I am unable to continue :( I can't magic money out of nowhere and my solicitor doesn't do public funding. At last I made him see today what a pig he is and maybe it will be good to move on and not have this hanging over my head once the absolute is pronounced :) However it is always the people with money that win in the end and this is very unfair :?
