patsylabrador
When I feel Autumn coming on I give the house an Autumnclean. Because I spend lots of time in the garden and am generally casual in the summer, I like to prepare the house for winter. It's been discussed on other threads but the spiders have gone berserk this summer. I can't believe the quantity of webs in those dark little corners. My OH says I'm like a bear preparing my den. Christian
I am moving soon and worried about getting the house ready for winter. I need logs, coal and oil before the weather hits. Ex OH calls me a squirrel and I hide things away for winter......
The Dogmother
Not inside, but I was chopping wood at the weekend and brought a lot up near the house - luckily as it was cool enough to light the stove on Monday night. I do tend to do more stuff indoors when the weather turns though
freddie
I've got to clean this house completely, as we're renting it out, and then clean the new one prior to moving in The new one(well, new to us! built in 1600 and something) needs oil, wood, lightings, and all the internet etc sorting... I'm dreading it
beach chick
I've kind of given up on the house... no one but me ever takes any notice as to whether it is clean/tidy or not! so I am spending every minute I can in the garden and the rest of them can take action when they notice the disaster zone indoors
Olly
Another one here who spends most of the summer in the garden and neglects the house. I am having a real push on completing unfinished tasks at the moment, and since I had the fireplace enlarged to put the woodburner in three years ago I still haven't re-papered the wall! I spend a lot of time in the kitchen in the winter, so I'm going to make a real effort to do that next. I've got a full log-store in the garage, which gives me a lovely warm feeling inside, without even lighting the woodburner!
Lavenders_Blue
It's been discussed on other threads but the spiders have gone berserk this summer. Tell me about it! I have lost count of the number of huuuuge spiders I have found in the house in the last few weeks. One evening I got up from the settee to let the dog in the garden and found three, yes THREE large spiders running around in the hall together I am also considering giving the house an autumn clean. Just considering, mind. I really hate cleaning!
Lewis
Not exactly the same but I decided it was stupidly full so got rid of 3 black bags full of old toys, paper and rubbish from 1 of my wardrobes earlier ... I have another 2 to do but 1 is clothes and the other is mainly books! I want to decorate my room but no way it can be done as messy as it is I have all my stuff and Uni stuff in here - literally couldn't see the floor or my wardrobes last week! Mrs Webmuppet
Once LMW is off to school I too shall be starting a really good clean and sort out. Place looks a real mess......I can feel a few trips to the tip coming on! I kind of give up fighting the chaos during the school summer holidays, order will be restored in the next couple of weeks. I too have noticed that my house has become a spider refuge, more so than normal (at one stage there were so many clustered on the coving above the tv I thought there was a really nasty stain ), do they know something about this coming winter ? The fruit trees and bushes are cropping heavily too...........
Seagazer
Oh dear I seem to have neglected the house and the garden this summer - heaven knows what I've been doing. Will start to get it back into some sort of order when YS goes back to school. I've got to take a couple of sacks of clothes to the charity shop too. I need to find a serious amount of storage space from somewhere. I could really do with moving too.
chickencam
I too spend the summer doing outdoor jobs and then find the house again in the autumn, I had the curtains down last week, cleaned the leather sofa and emptied the room it is in because it is impossible to get behind it without doing, cleaned the carpet and got rid of the cobwebs and cleaned the window. One room done not sure when the rest will follow We also had a load of logs delivered last week and the chimney swept, I feel ready for winter now, and of course it has been a lovely warm day todays, loads of washing done.
