Mercedes55
Just read in yesterday's paper about this TV programme which is on Channel 4 next Friday evening rare chicken rescue According to the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations in 2000, some 1350 domestic mammal and bird breeds faced extinction. In Australia, chicken species such as the Sumatran, the Phoenix, the Transylvanian Naked Neck, the Spanish, the Azeel and even the humble Leghorn are some of the breeds under threat. Randall Wood's film follows Mark Tully, one of Australia's many 'poultry fanciers,' on his mission to track down and protect endangered chicken species. On a 'chicken chase' covering 10,000 kilometres and spanning five Australian states, Mark's mission is to track down rare heritage breeds and meet others who share his passion. While he spends his days rescuing poultry, he reveals that the unconditional love of his large collection of turkeys, chooks and other birds - and the serenity he finds in their company - has helped save his own life after a long battle with mental illness. Redwing
I enjoyed it, I'd like to have seen more of the birds though, that first lady the guy visited obviously had some lovely chooks The music was very annoying though Nice to see poultry shows are just the same in other countries

Griffin
I watched it with Molly (on ch4+1 because I couldn't wrestle the telly away from the youngsters watching Lemonade Mouth on the Disney channel). We loved it I particularly enjoyed all the chooks with silly hair, and Molly said it'd be nice for Olive Poland to have a husband. I pointed out it'd be a waste of time, she's never ever laid an egg
