Very sad this morning.

Recommended Posts

Hi all

At the end of March we rehomed three ex bats, so sad only have two this morning.

When I came home from school yesterday Annie was in the nest box, thought nothing of it untill the other two came in the eglu and tried to peck her. There was a little bit of blood so I built the spare eglu and little run and popped her in there. I thought she was trying to lay a softie and checked on her when I went to bed and she seemed settled for the night.

But this morning I have found that she has died. Poor Annie has had just over five months of freedom. I named the ex batts the A team with names beginning with A, Annie was my late mum's middle name.

I know after the sadness of some posts recently loosing a chicken is nothing in comparison but I do feel sad this morning.

Hi counturchickens

It was such a shock, I thought she would be much better today or once she had laid what I thought was going to be a softie, I had positioned the little eglu run so that Agatha and Agnes could see her and we would not have problems when she went back in with them.

Agatha and Agnes seem quiet this morning not making their normal chooky noises.
