snowberry
My cat Saria who is 15 has a nasty tumour on her hip that has been developing for the last 5-6 weeks; tonight I saw in her eyes that she is really suffering. I just don't know how brave I can be...this is worse than when my husband died! I am not a mad cat lady but it sure looks like it now... Olly
So sorry. It is awful, isn't it; but you have done the best thing for her. It's a privilege to be able to do this for a loving companion.

Alis girls
What a strikingly pretty face she has - dark and light fur - its a horrible decision to make but at least shes at peace. Ali x
bluekarin
Oh, that's just brought me back to making the same decision for our Ollie cat. He had a tumour in his stomach, but we left it too late to have him put to sleep and he died in the morning before his vet appointment. Saria was as beautiful as her name. She looked a lovely cat to have living with you (((hugs))) to you and RIP Saria

Daphne
Oh my. She was absolutely gorgeous. I've never seen a cat with markings like that. I'm very sorry to hear the news, but well done, you did the right thing for her, at some cost to yourself. RIP Saria.

snowberry
Thank you for all your kind comments. I know I did the right thing for her but still feel so guilty. She is sleeping peacefully in the nature reserve above our house.
kazmac
I'm sorry to hear about Saria. She was absolutely beautiful. So striking. But you said yourself that you could see in her eyes that she'd had enough and you knew it was time to do this one last, loving thing for her with only her best interests at heart. Don't feel guilty - it takes a strong person to make a decision like that; and she will have known that you understood what she was telling you - animals are very aware of their own mortality and if she felt it was time to go, then you can take comfort in the knowledge that you 'heard' what she was saying. You still have her close to you in the nature reserve which sounds lovely. xx
Omletina Kyckling
I'm so sorry to hear about Saria but you did the right thing and have nothing to feel bad about. The moment you sensed she was suffering you let her go, which is the right thing to do. She was a beautiful cat, such a pretty face, she really reminds me of the Rosie Wachtmeister cats with her lovely two tone face. I just showed her photo to my mum and she said exactly the same. Sending you lots of hugs x x
