Amanda Knox. Do you think she did it?

Recommended Posts

Interesting isn't it, the appeal court decision just proved insufficient good quality forensic evidence, there still seemed to be a lot of unanswered questions about odd behaviour at the time.

I feel so sorry for Meredith's family. I appreciate Amanda Knox's family had to create a bit of media circus to ensure she wasn't forgotten (and if it was a child of mine I'd have done everything I could to help them) but this must be awful for the Kerchers.

I think it's a long way from being over. I think she was probably a bad person and a bad friend, but that doesn't make her guilty of murder. I think the truth will come out eventually but what a nightmare for Meredith Kercher's family. I can't remember the boyfriend's name, isn't it interesting that we focus on Amanda Knox and not him.

I've been wondering what other people think too.

I too feel for the Kerchers.

I think Amanda Knox was portrayed very badly by the press,& as she has a slightly sly, knowing look about her,as well as being attractive, people have tended to think the worse (there is nothing that captures the public imagination like a beautiful but evil person)

The trial, the DNA testing & the interviewing of suspects seems to have been very flawed,& I think this enquiry was very justified.

I just hope that they do find the person or people who were involved,or who aided the man who is still imprisoned,in his killing of Meredith.

I think this enquiry was very justified.

I agree, if the evidence is unsound it was right for them to be released. I think the media coverage right from the very beginning has made it harder to get to what actually happened and there obviously was more interest because of the way Amanda looked.

What strikes me about Amanda Knox is the fake tears - she seemed so insincere in her press conference that it started to really annoy me. Every time I've seen her sobbing, there have been no tears whatsoever.

Of course, that doesn't make the girl a murderer!

However if she and her boyfriend really are innocent, then it's high time they were free having been imprisoned for four years; but if they're guilty, then it's a travesty that they've walked away.

I'm not sure this is finished, either. I just hope that they do find out in the end who murdered Meredith. If it was my daughter (God forbid) I'd be beside myself still not knowing the whole story.

And, of course, I'm not too comfortable with Amanda being set to make millions out of all this; but then again, if she really is innocent, why not? But it just seems to be turning into a circus and she's really making money on the back of her so-called friend's brutal and untimely death.

One just has to hope that eventually, one day, those responsible will pay the price.

We can't possibly know as we only know what the media has fed us in this case. We have to trust the justice system and hope that they used their powers fairly and responsibly. What I do know is that a much loved daughter and sister has been lost and the Kercher family has been left devastated. Whilst I understand the the families and friends of the 2 defendants appealing - there were 2 remember, had been a little more sensitive and dignified for the sake of Meredith's loved ones.

My sympathies are too with the Kerchers, what an awful ordeal for them the trial and media circus must have been. That is not to say that justice should be denied to the innocent. I just think the whole case has been handled badly from the outset with far too much media intrusion. Sadly, I don't think the truth will ever come out. All one can hope is that those who committed this awful crime do not sleep easy in their beds....ever!

It seems to me to be very wrong if Amanda Knox capitalises on her situation to make money out of it....one would hope she would show more consideration for the Kercher family, who after all have been given sentences of their own..for life... :(

There was never enough evidence against Amanda Knox, and the fact that we are questioning whether or not she did it means that there is reasonable doubt.

She is undoubtedly a strange girl, and her behaviour at the time of the murder was bizarre, but that does not necessarily point towards her being guilty.

I feel very sorry for the Kercher family, and hope that the truth will eventually come out, but I think it is right that the appeal was successful.

I agree completely with the above post and see no point in raking over the coals. The conviction was found to be based on flawed evidence, so she and Raffaele Sollecito should have been released. There is a further process, which would involve extradition, should further evidence come to light.

I read an interesting article about the Italian appeal process. Apparently the defence only has to ask the judge to re-examine any evidence that is doubtful, ie 90% of the prosecution evidence can be cast iron but if there is anything which say is doubtful forensically in any of the evidence the whole case will be thrown out.

They do not re-examine the whole case, just little pieces of the evidence.

The article also said that because of this Italy has one of the lowest prison populations in the world.
