Flaming June and sodden July

Recommended Posts

its been dead strange up at teesside, one minute its been really bright, and we get the idea that the worse is over, about 10 minutes later its gone really dark and the heavens have opened and people are walking down the street looking like drowned rats

I dont know whether to wear a shirt or a poloneck and an additional jumper :?

That's what it has been like in Stratford today - sunny then cloudy then black - warm then cold torrential rain.

I had to ask one of the engineers at work to fetch my car from the car park as the rain was so heavy when I left - he's been itching to get his hands on my car, so he didn't mind. I had a very long skirt on and would have mopped up all the puddles between work and the car park :?

We've got a friend coming to help us replace the conservatory roof this weekend. After synchronising diaries it was the only weekend for weeks that we're all free. If it rains all day though I really don't want anyone tearing off the old roof, even if it is to put on a fabulous new one. Grrr, this weather :x

We have got a pretty impressive downpour going on right now, black as midnight out there, and rain sheeting it down. Daughter's dancing in the garden in a new raincoat (not had any opportunity to wear it in the rain up until now), a shocking pink brolly and a pair of Crocs flip flops  I think she's flipped :lol::lol::lol:

More severe weather warnings - apparantly we are in a lull between 2 storms at the moment.

We have just booked to see Shrek The Third at the movies on Sunday so the day won't be totally depressing & wasted if the weather is going to be that bad :?

I am also getting my weekend outdoor jobs done today, like cleaning out the Hens.No need to water the veggies though

Theres a severe heatwave in Greece with temps of 114. I can't help feeling relieved that we missed that too when we went on holiday earlier this month!

I like it hot, but not quite that hot!

Theres a great piccy in The Mail of a packed Greek beach at 9 at night 8)

Was here earlier too, and just 8 degrees this morning, but the clouds are gathering now.

I hate to be the harbinger of doom, but yesterday, my mother told me that there would be 'severe weather' on saturday :?

Oh no, we are going to Blackpool zoo for the Sunday School trip! We ALWAYS have good weather :D

And.... Alexander is away all this week in Coniston with the school

His friend went to the same place with his school in April, & I remember thinking then that at least Alexander had a chance of good weather, going in the summer. What did we have the week that his friend was there- a heatwave :?

I have not heard from DS1, so no news is good news :D

They have a computer suite where he is, & he was going to either email us, or send me a private message through this forum 8)

I hope you have an industrial sized washing machine for when he gets back Jules

I think you may have a few wet muddy clothes

I bet he's had a fantastic time

My son went to Wales a few weeks ago, he had a brilliant time, came back covered in mud and hadn't even taken the wrapper off his bar of soap
