Lesley
.........and don't forget that when old threads are tidied up a lot of posts are deleted so some people have fewer posts showing than they actually made My excuse is that I was a Mod for a long time! Willow
.........and don't forget that when old threads are tidied up a lot of posts are deleted so some people have fewer posts showing than they actually made I did wonder what happened to the post counter when threads were deleted... Mr Rhode Island Red
Mr RIR - please dont take this the wrong way - is it time to get out more? I love working with numbers, and in fact, that research only took a total of about 10 minutes And how do moderators get picked, do they have to apply etc. ? The Dogmother
New mods are only appointed when one steps down, or if the workload becomes too much for the current team. A shortlist is put forward to Omlet.

Chortle Chook
I've also always wondered what the criteria for being a mod is and what the tasks are. That is not to say it is something I could do as it must take a huge amount of time. Do you have to read x number of posts a day? I'm sure there are some mods I haven't 'spoken' to but those I have had direct contact with have been so kind and patient, starting with my fiasco over trying to change my forum name when I first joined and not knowing that a PM meant a 'private message' (thanks, Christian ). Then there was my more recent fiasco over putting a chicky on the Omlet sales area and finding out that it only took one click for said chook to be sold so I couldn't vet the home (thanks, Redwing). craftyhunnypie
You have to watch your P's & Q's too much if you're a mod. Don't think I could do that too well. Say it as it is I do. Don't think I could be myself & relax / enjoy the forum if I was a mod ( fat chance). Emma.x
Sammiboo
I have to say being a mod can be hard work and a thankless job. I was a moderator (second in charge) on an international italian car forum for years. Towards the end I had no enjoyment being on there. Getting involved in the politics between moderators. All the fun had been taken out, i dont really go on there any more just because it was stressful so decided to have a complete break and have stayed away for over a year. Its nice to come on a forum when i want to and not because its my job. far more relaxing and enjoyable.
Alis girls
No my tendancy to be contreversial would mean I would be on another list the "dont even think of asking this woman to be a moderator" list mwah mwah
Mr Rhode Island Red
anyway, back to the stats, Maybe i could do a monthly or bi-monthly report on how many members have joined in the past while, any new members in the 10,000 + group? etc.
Space Chick
I'd be interested to read them
Chortle Chook
Yes I'd like to see more of your stats. For some crazy reason I like to see if I fit in a box (other than the 'say it like it is' one, that is )
