Calamity Jane
I have a job interview today. It is only for temporary Christmas staff, but i am SO nervous. I havent had an interview about ANYTHING for so so so many years. I dont have much self esteem at the moment, and have been shutting myself away a bit. On Sunday OH and I went to local garden centre and they were advertising for staff. I applied impulsively, thinking that it would do me good to get out of the house more, and give me a confidence boost............. but now I have this interview eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeek!! pips_pekins
That's great! Well done. Let us know how you get on. Just take a deep breath, make eye contact and be yourself. The fact that you already visit the centre as a customer will help you answer any questions.

Calamity Jane
Well - I'm back. It wasn't too bad, very informal. Feel a bit silly now for getting so nervous. It is only for 6-8hrs as a Christmas temp! Mind you they had over 150 applicants - crazy. I'll let you know how I get on. ps I have just bid on an Eglu Cube on ebay !!!!!!!!!!! Seagazer
Good luck - I think Christmas temporary jobs are quite a good way of easing you back in the workforce. I did it a few years ago, I really enjoyed it. Ooh I see I was too late to wish you luck for your interview - I wish you luck in getting the job now. Willow
Hope you get it but if you don't you mustn't think it's a reflection on you - with so many applicants they can't take everyone they think would be good.

Calamity Jane
Thankyou everyone for your encouragement. I had a phone call yesterday from the garden centre to say they wont be taking it further this time but could they keep my records on file in case something comes up in the new year. I am happy with that, it has been a good experience for me. If nothing else it got me out of the house for the morning !!!
Bramble
Well, that sounds pretty positive, shame it didn't work out this time, but sounds like they might want to consider you for something in the Spring when they get really busy. Well done for giving it a go!!!!!!
