kinsk
Late to this but I swear by Dubarry. I have had mine since 2004, I walk the dogs in them, ride in them, garden in them, fanny around with the pigs, horses and hens in them. Obviously they are showing their age now, but (touch wood) they haven't split and are still 100% waterproof. I put a pair of fleece insoles in mine and just a decent pair of socks and rarely get cold toes.
Ain't Nobody Here
After another thread about wellies a couple of years ago, I bought a pair of Easy Wellies. They've been great, very comfy and have lasted well so far. Also got free welly warmers which are brilliant (good that they're sending out black not cream, much more practical!) The Dogmother
If yer after a regular look welly then try Lowthers, they never crack (I've had my current pair for more than 5 years and that's with regular paddling in the sea!) great wellies, but for warmth I'd go for neoprene muck boots any time. Lavenders_Blue
The Muck Boots are definitely warm! I've been out for 3 walks in them so far (very comfy) and my feet have been toasty! I think I can leave the woolly socks until it gets really cold and just stick with normal cotton socks for now as it seems to be a bit milder. Thumbs up (so far ). Just looked on the web at Dubarry and mi they are expensive so would be quite an investment - fine if I was to get the right ones and if they last as long as you say they might even be a cost saving, but they look as if they are leather which surely is not waterproof is it? I'd also worry about mud and earth ruining them but that can't be or they would not be so popular. Which ones do you have and do you have to put something special on them to keep them mud / water proof?
The Dogmother
My friend wears the leather ones and anoints them with a leather wax or balm - she says that they are really waterproof and warm.
