Can I have some help please? Sandwich makers/grills

Recommended Posts

I want to buy a panini press for £40 or less but saw this which griddles other stuff and does toasted sandwiches.

George Foreman 14053 5-Portion Family Grill in Silver

I just don't know what to buy. Does anyone have experience of these sorts of products? They sound fun and possibly healthy to use. I'm going to use Amazon tokens so I'm loathe to waste a gift.

Thanks

I've had 2 George Forman grills & tbh I found them cheaply made, though this may just be my bad luck! Bits snapped off (flimsy plastic on the lids & handle). I now have a Breville panini grill which is wonderful.

I may be unique in that when I had the George Foreman grills, when eating burgers etc that had been cooked on them, I always felt ill afterwards! You would have thought it would be the opposite because of the extra fat that you get rid off in them. Weird!

I have a George Foreman grill with interchangable plates. It enable me to grill and make panini etc and you can just remove the plates and allow to soak before washing. :D My son bought it and although I do use it quite alot I could live without it as I get fed up with all the gadgets around. They all have to be stored somewhere and it does drive me mad. :x I told my lot no more gadgets this Christams.:lol:

I also have a Breville panini grill which is fabulous and sooooo easy to clean (with a dry bit of paper towel!). I've only ever cooked paninis and toasties in it though so don't know about grilling things.

I bought ES a cheap George Forman grill for Christmas (I know how to spoil my boy  ) but as it's only for a Uni flat kitchen, I'm not bothered about its lasting qualities!

I have got a Tefal sandwich maker with removable plates which is great and really easy to clean. It has the 'floating' top. I also have a large George Foreman grill which I got in the hope of grilling meat. I found it did not cook things properly and I would say it is only useful as a big sandwich maker so I would not recommend it.

I have a george foreman grill and i don't use it, i don't like the way my steaks etc always seem to have been dried out. :(

I do have a breville toastie maker and i have used it for what seems like for ever, love cheese and onion toasties. :D

So if i were to add to my grills i would definately go for the paninie, and if the breville is at £40 i think that is a good buy.....so what are you waiting for ?????? Go get it !!
