feemcg
I don't mind hanging out socks, or any other washing, as long as its in a certain order with matching pegs . I am rebelling a bit at the moment as I feel I'm hitting my head off a brick wall with the inside out thing - if its in the basket like that, thats how it gets washed . I also despair with Emma's undies as theres hardly a piece of fabric big enough to put a peg in . It also occurred to me the other night that I'd stood and ironed a huge pile of Emma's clothes while she was up in her room with the boyfriend! MUG springs to mind - I've told her if she's old enough to have a 'serious' boyfriend, shes old enough to do her own ironing (sorry, bit of a rant there ). Sheilaz
I've long since stopped ironing automatically for the others except Esther. DS2 (22) sometimes asks me if I'd mind doing some shirts for him with my things as he reckons he's hopeless at it , while he does another job for me, & I choose something I'm not keen on. Fair enough, but one week it wasn't convenient. Thursday evening I could hear talking & there was his mate ironing his going out shirt for him before they went out! The Dogmother
Thnaks, that was when he was quite young - he's now a big bruiser, has bright orange eyes and loves his mummy to bits. I have to put all my clothes away as soon as I take them off otherwise he's snuggling and sucking on them Oh Yuk!!!!!!! At least it means that Rosie mostly puts her clothes away instead of leaving them strewn around.
Lesley
- we have a demented dog which has (almost) cured Carl of discarding clothes on the floor I was hoping on-one was going to mention matching pegs I have to match pegs and also match the colour of peg to the garment ........... and I can't put pegs of the same colour next to each other unless there are enough pegs of that particular colour to peg all the washing

Egluntyne
You should all join Pegs Anonymous! You are all barking mad! I now use wooden pegs and it has cured me of my obsessive peg behaviour Does obsessive peg behaviour consist of having to have pegs of the same colour on a garment? In which case I've got it big style. Where can I get some wooden ones? Help.......!

MUG springs to mind - I've told her if she's old enough to have a 'serious' boyfriend, shes old enough to do her own ironing (sorry, bit of a rant there ). The day my DD1 snapped at me that she had loads of spare time was the day I stopped doing her ironing. She was 16. She is now 18 and hasn't touched the iron in all that time. She just wears her clothes unironed. I was hoping on-one was going to mention matching pegs I have to match pegs and also match the colour of peg to the garment ........... and I can't put pegs of the same colour next to each other unless there are enough pegs of that particular colour to peg all the washing I'm exactly the same Lesley! All pegs must be in pairs - even my toddlers knew this if they were helping me! - and often there is a circular pattern of colours. (Red, blue, pink, turquoise, white, yellow, red . . .etc). Sometimes I like to use the same colour for all the socks (if I have enough of one colour that is!!!!). Since we have discovered lots of people do this, we are not barking mad, we are NORMAL! And Claret, your Biscuit is absolutely gorgeous! What a wonderful colour he is.
Egluntyne
try here Egluntine - www.woodenpegsforpeoplewithcolourpegobs ... hisisajoke You got me there Christian.....in my desperate need for help I clicked the link. Perhaps we should form a support group. Hands up if you have unpegged all your washing to get the right ratio of coloured pegs to garments. Hands up if you cant concentrate on your work if you know something is on your washing line at home with un-matched pegs....I can hardly bring myself to type that! Hands up if you have popped up to the corner shop to buy more pegs to get just one more of a certain colour. If the answer is yes to any of the above you are eligible to join the support group. I nominate Christian as chairperson. Now all we need is a name.
Guest
Potty Peggers perhaps? I have NEVER gone to the shops to get an extra peg for my washing! But I love buying new pegs, that's a real treat! And my mother used to bring me back sets from Portugal where they have much more exciting colours.
The Dogmother
Thanks Ginette - he's a cream tabby (well his dad was and his mum was a british blue). I don't do the peg thing, just race out, bung it on the line and race back to work.
Jules.
I have 5 people who wear socks in our house. That's 35 pairs a week at least! I used to tumble socks occasionally and love the way they come out ironed. All the time I know I've got to get the whole lot off the line later on, which also takes ages! You don't iron socks, do you? Why is it that all my son's grey school socks end up different shades of grey & not matching?
Guest
No, but my mother used to iron all our pants and socks!
Lailapet
This is a scary thread!! I don't iron anything unless I absolutely have to! I don't match pegs and I dry all small things on an airer indoors so I don't have to peg them. I was shocked when my ex visited and sorted all the pegs in colours, never even noticed he did that when we were together! ooohhh, I know I am a slob in some respects, but if I should worry about the colours of the pegs I'd never get anything done. I do one load of washing a day and there's just me and the 2 kids here... Sophia also has a floordrobe and we have the rule of only what's in the washing basket gets washed so I hardly ever bother about her clothes.
