coco
My Dad who lives in Spain died on Boxing Day after being diagnosed with secondary stage cancer only a week before. today was his funeral but as i don't have a current passport and was unable to get a replacement [had lost my old one] I couldn't go. Feeling very low this morning I decided to go chicken shopping. After a four hour two hundred mile round trip to Pages poultry in Staffordshire I have three new girls. A brahma bantam and two lovely little polish crosses. I actually went for Wyandotte bantams. Wandering round trying to decide which chickens too have was really relaxing and good therapy. My Dad was called Colin so I have called the Brahma Chloe [can't have a girl called Colin] and the two polish Holly and Polly.
Wolfie
Aw Coco, sorry to hear about your Dad. My parents lived in Spain for a while so I can understand your distance problem. Your dear little chucks will give you grieving space. Hugs! Anne

Olly
So sorry to hear of your loss - but yes I'd agree that chickens are great therapy, and the daily routines and being outdoors so often can work wonders when you're feeling low. I wish you joy of your new hens.
