Redwing
Could it be linked to the cats? after all you haven't had two living indoors full time before
Space Chick
Could it be linked to the cats? after all you haven't had two living indoors full time before I very much doubt it Tasha, but I'll mention it to the doctor just in case. Alis girls
Don't - if you mention furry, feathery, scaley beasts to Drs - hey presto they have a solution to your symptons. OH mentioned we had cats to a Dr and she was already planning their demise. i am sure there are Drs with pets but they are keen to blame our pets for anything. I should know i work for Drs and non of them like animals
The Dogmother
I once had that explanation from the doc re my allergic rhinitis, she was flummoxed when I explained that i don't get it at home where the fur and feathers abound. Turns out it is due to dust, specifically paper dust which is why I am always sneezing at work.
Space Chick
I have spoken to my friend who is a doctor, she has assured me that it is very very unlikely to be related to the cats, that an allergy to cats would not have enlarged my heart
The Dogmother
Glad to hear it Debs. Phil's dad walked as far as one of the outhouses today, which is about 50 metres, he seems less unsteady so Phil came up here for the weekend, but he was worried about him. He has a heart problem too and is on Warfarin, the inactivity has caused a build up of fluid on his legs so D's now also on diuretics... he calls them 'exercise tablets' as he's up every hour for a wee now once he goes to the bathroom Phil's mum gets him to walk along the hallway which is good. chickencam
Sounds like he is getting better, I hope SC that you are too. I believe that having animals helps your health both mentally and physically.
Space Chick
Well after chest pain today I was admitted to hospital again Basically, I emptied the cats litter tray, and i started getting chest pains and pain in my left arm. I took my pulse at it was 156 Id only emptied a litter tray So, i was admitted for tests, again!, however, now that a heart attack has been ruled they let me come home. In fairness, I didn't think I'd had a heart attack, so felt I was wasting their time, but my GP insisted I went in. Basically my BP was up again and I'm still tachycardic and the fact that both my parents died in their 40s of heart problems my GP isn't taking any chances I have had another test added onto the cardiology tests, but I'm still none the wiser as to what is actually going on Getting really fed up now Glad that Phils dad is improving DM

scubababe
Hiya Debs, ((hugs)) I'm much better now. Just got a slight cough which is just clearing the mucus of my chest but apart from that I'm fine. You have my sympathy & prayers. I hate being ill too but at least I'm almost there! Yours however sounds much more serious. How are your heart scans going? What are they going to do as a follow up? Have you thought of getting an air purifier? Just a thought, it might help to get dust and stuff out of your airspace and ease your breathing/lungs/pressure on your heart. As a couple of the others have said...Manuka products are fab. My little ones love a little bit of honey in warm water with some cordial when their feeling ill. Somehow I don't think they are as ill as often as they tell me I hope you start to feel better soon. Rest as much as you can. The housework can wait....YOU are far more important than running a hoover around!! ((hugs))
Space Chick
Glad you are getting better Scubababe I'm waiting for the cardiology appointment to come through.. So will have all the tests then. Basically, the best guess at the moment is that the infection attacked my heart and I have myocarditis, but until I have seen the cardiologist we won't know for sure if it is that (which hopefully should right itself in time) or something more sinister. Dr has prescribed me with a GTN spray if I get any more chest pain, and I have been signed off work for another 2 weeks and told to monitor my pulse and pain and rest. Yorkshire Pudding
Oh gosh, how worrying for you - please do what they say and rest, we are all so inclined to do too much especially when stuck at home & we can see all the jobs that need doing. Please rest properly and I hope your problems are soon being treated x
sparkysmum
Oh S/C I am sorry you have been so unwell & are having such a dreadful time. Am sending many get well hugs and hope that the cardiologists are able to come up with an accurate diagnosis and treatment. Try to take things easy if that's possible. Space Chick
My cardiology appointments have come through I have a scan and a 24hr ECG on Tuesday, then on Weds I have a treadmill test and a cardiologist review So hopefully next week I will know exactly what's going on.... I'm obviously hoping is the viral myocarditis as this should right itself

Alis girls
Hope you get it sorted and are resting as prescribed - treadmill isnt too bad - had one some yrs back as had chest pain after lifting rabbit hutch I had to stop as SOB due to my asthma. Guy recommended most people stopped much sooner. Hope you get an idea as to what you are dealing with. Hugs Ali x
