The new catalogue was on the doorstep when I got home, always a good moment as I love to sit and read it. Then I came to this item - a pastry cutter, to decorate your pie with pastry chickens. The cutter is great, in fact I want one but the description had me in stitches!

 

 

What better way to top an individual chicken pie than with our poultry-themed Pastry Cutter. Just roll out your pastry for the lid, use the plastic cutter to press out the shapes then place atop your pie for a perfect pie-crust with dinky detail or decorative hen vents!

 

I think someone should tip off the lovely people at Lakeland that 'vent' has a particular meaning in relation to hens!

I have copied this and emailed it to give OH, who is away at the moment, a laugh. He will appreciate this as he helped me at the weekend apply diatom to the girls so is well aware of hens' anatomy as I like to ensure areas like their bottoms are well dusted to keep the bugs away
